I kinda just threw them together in Audacity, so I probably didn’t get the stereophonic-3D-aural-experience or whatever, but I like it.

The dual version of “Like I Want You” and “Lavender” (less so for this one) are probably my definitive versions. Like someone said before: the arrangement for “Ordinary” is cool in a different way too, which I think they kinda tried to recreate on Revolving Doors.

“Erase” gets a cool string chorus at the end, which is really pretty, but I’m not a fan of the guitars and lighter tone that gets thrown in there too.

I can’t remember any of the other ones right at the moment lol.

    Lmao

I’ve definitely beefed with someone in this thread before about the screeching noise and how I love it. Was it you? lol

that might've been someone else, haha. it's not bad, but it feels incredibly out of place

    The sword and the faith.

I specifically cited the phaser laser beams as the one thing that keep the overlaid version from being one of my favorite tracks of all time. They're just so off putting and weird!

It's funny seeing this page go silent for like a month or two, then all it takes is for one person to say something and the floodgates open back up lol.

Anyone else here plan on going to the concert or is it just me? I've been counting the days.

I still want Aaron to give us a spatial audio version of Ixora + Twin. I think he could make it really special.

this. on streaming and possibly a Dolby Atmos Blu-ray, which i believe he said he'd be open to (or at least he said he was interested in a 5.1 mix on DVD, so an Atmos Blu-ray doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility)

    Jealous. Have fun.

I’ll be scouring YouTube for a month or so afterwards to live vicariously through bad cell phone video footage.

Pretty sure recording isn't allowed at the Schermerhorn. Doesn't mean people aren't going to try, I guess. For your and everyone's sake I hope someone does. Or maybe a miracle will happen and they'll officially record it. I'm not holding out too much hope there. Sad because I know there's a great (unofficial) video of the Sewanee Symphony but idk if we'll get anything like that considering the restriction.

Jumping on the Copeland nostalgia train, here's something I doubt many have seen...

I just "relaunched" my music archival blog Discography.fm and I've been saving this for the occasion. Lot's of info in the blog post about the video, but TLDR; NC venue used to record sets and give them to the band. They tried selling this one of Copeland and The Militia Group shut it down. 20 years later, Chad from TMG sent it to me.

    Setlist:
    1. You Have My Attention
    2. Take Care
    3. When Paula Sparks
    4. Walking Downtown
    5. Brightest
    6. Untitled
    7. Testing The Strong Ones
    8. California

Thank you for posting this! You can almost smell the sweat and feel the heat in these cramped shows. Suddenly it's like I'm back in college going to some of my favorite shows again

Aces used to record every set and play the videos between bands on TVs posted around the venue. A lot of them were uploaded to YouTube and the description says if you email them, they will give you access to a link with all of the videos. I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I plan to someday soon. That archive needs to be preserved in multiple places

That 6th song is an early version of Love is a Fast Song. sounds very different. They definitely hadnt gotten the chorus figured out when they played this show. really cool video

Love these old Copeland videos. Old drummer Rusty if I recall correctly? And James on bass? I believe he left to pursue other career opportunities after two or three albums and my younger self couldn’t believe how anyone could possibly choose to leave a band like Copeland! Didn’t he understand what he had?!?

And I miss the old Copeland website forum. Aaron would chime in regularly and I ate it up.

Oh, the Copeland forum... I have a list of lost and found Copeland media and that's toward the top. There's a portion that's still around on the Wayback Machine, but I'm sure it's basically nothing compared to what once was. It's also one of the ones on that list that there's basically no hope of retrieving. Very unfortunate. Must've been awesome to be on there at the time.

Just got back from it. Was NOT expecting Where's My Head of all things, especially not as an opener. Very fitting for the season though and nice to hear a more overlooked song.

Show was incredible. Grabbed a revolving door vinyl which I never thought id get another chance at.

Only downside was this one insane fan left his seat to hang out *at* the stage, singing loudly and waving his arms and pounding the stage. Security or other patrons asked him to sit twice before taking him back to his seat like 3/4 through the show. And this was a mega downside because he was right in front of me the whole damn time.

Yeahhh that guy made me anxious. I suspect there was something mentally up with him, not in a rude way. No idea why it took security so long to get him back to his seat.
