That's honestly a fair price, though you'll really be spending $290 because it doesn't come with the controller (unless you have a switch pro controller or old N64 controllers)

the first and main thing i can think of is "how legal is this?"
lol, i can't imagine Nintendo finding out about this and NOT throwing these folks in a dungeon for the rest of their days

(or, i'm guessing here, since it doesn't have all the games ON it- just plays them- is that enough of a distinction?)

I imagine for Nintendo to have a case, they'd have to prove it infringes on some patent or uses something proprietary.

The analogue pocket has been a smash success for quite a while now, so I'm guessing that means it's legal somehow?

Analogue Pocket review: The greatest Game Boy ever made

Read the first post, sums it up nicely in regards to the Pocket. I imagine the same logic applies here.

Not a bad price at all considering how much the pockets are. I don’t even know where my damn pocket is. Also shipping is probably going to be crazy expensive

I just beat the champion in Brilliant Diamond. I didn’t get these at first because of the backlash but honestly they are perfectly fine remakes. The graphics aren’t pretty, but once you get used to it they also aren’t off putting. I you like the originals or old school Pokemon and want to play them on Switch there’s really no reason not to get these.

I’ve only been playing Pokemon since the middle of the summer because I’m not doing so great and it’s really been helping my keep my spirit up somewhat.

is it an unpopular opinion to say there is no bad Mario party and they're all basically the same more or less?

I wouldn't say that's a hugely unpopular opinion, but I would say that's a generalized opinion from people who don't play every entry and aren't well informed on the subject.

Take the first Mario Party for instance, it's pretty bare and ruthless. You actually can lose coins for losing mini games. There's also entries that have microphone mini games, different power up/items mechanics like items that are placed on spaces to attack enemies, and some of the entries get rid of the traditional Mario Party board game experience all together and have all the players travel together in a car beating bosses.

Some of the entries are good, some of them are fine and some are bad. Super Mario Party I think is pretty mixed because it has some really great parts but changes the game a little too much by making the board significantly smaller and less interesting, changing the star value to 10 coins and the mini games have motion controls which means it can't be played on the Switch Lite/handheld mode unless you pair and use a joycon.

There's some entries where the maps kind of suck too. Mario Party Superstars is a pretty great reimagining of the first few entries.

That's all a very long winded way to say that some of the titles in the franchise are wildly different from each other.

Growing up, I was playing one of the GameCube ones with my friends. One of them wagered all of their coins and played a minigame where you had to say the name of fruits into the microphone.

When a pic of a banana showed, from across the room I shouted “GRAPE” and they lost all of their coins lol
