Wild that one person can perpetrate that one time. Insane that there can be a network of people involved and it can happen multiple times for decades with no visible consequence from either the law/justice system or any vigilante justice from victims or their families. I was about to type that it’s also insane that the capitalist interests of the industry wouldn’t have curbed it but then I reminded myself that it was the capitalist interests of the industry that actively removed any visible consequences for him (and probably the same for the law/justice system).

It also feeds into my intuition that the reason you sometimes see folks like Katy Perry work with horrible people and you wonder “how could they have possibly not seen the blowback from working with that person?” is because there are these known mega-monsters hiding from the public in the industry that make the horrible folks seem acceptable in comparison from the POV of someone inside that world.

 

Wow, that story is like 100x worse than the already sickening headline makes it sound. That poor woman. Thinking about all of the people that Diddy made good on those same threats with makes me feel fucking empty inside

There’s a news report of someone reading her actual claims verbatim and she explains that the woman wanted her name attached to it so people wouldn’t claim she was hiding behind anonymity. It’s so much worse hearing them read it out loud.

Feel terrible for everyone that knew him and what they are going through. Feel horrible for Maya. I’ve been in a relationship where someone continued to threaten suicide and harm to keep me from leaving them. It’s an impossible situation that’s so incredibly mean and manipulative. What a horrible ending to all of this.

 

Reports are starting to confirm suicide. This is so incredibly fucked up for everyone involved.
