I think that’s all I can commit to, but there are a few significant 2020s films I’ve missed so far

Here's a quick best of the decade so far for me. I'm a little behind on 2024 films, having a newborn means I haven't been to the cinema in about six months, which I do very much miss. Order is pretty close to meaningless.

I knew I fell behind on movie watching but I didn’t realize I fell a decade behind

Anyway I had never seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre part 2 so I threw it on last night and wow. It was the same director as the first but instead of building on the tone of the first it right off the bat is a fun comedy/gore style horror movie with Leatherface taking his chainsaw show on the road. It’s a very fun movie I’m just surprised they kind of spoofed their own film lol There has to be a story behind how this was made

I have tcm2 sitting on my hard drive via accident trying to get the orginal

I think it can be productive to compare worst list when you come from an attitude like Spyki of comparing taste even though it's fun to use more aggressive language

Skinamarink is probably the best horror film of the decade so far.

Well now I feel even better about it. I'd have had to rethink my whole life if you'd approved.

See Moonfall absolutely IS bad. But it knows it's bad. And it's fun bad. The moon literally sneaks up behind them and jumpscares them at one point. I was yelling "yes!!!" at the screen.

Polite Society was such a pleasant surprise when it was such a different movie than the trailers made it out to be.

I don’t think I saw any trailers for it, how was it marketed?

It seemed like it was going to be all zany wuxia stuff to the point that I couldn’t talk my buddy into seeing it because he was convinced it was going to be a rip-off of Everything Everywhere All at Once

Having bloody nose, empty pockets on the worst of list is insane.

A more mean spirited collection of some of the worst films I’ve been unfortunate enough to see this decade.

After We Collided (might be THE worst film I’ve seen? Maybe that’s just a little hyperbole).
    The Boy 2
    Night Swim
    Red Notice
    Dashcam
    Thunder Force
    An American Pickle
    Fatal Visit
    Fear Street

  15. Lol, I expected Night Swim to be bad based on...everything I heard, but I didn't hate it. Imaginary was much worse.

I also really enjoyed the Fear Street series.

Aw I liked the first Fear Street a lot.

Crossed LB and imdb to see what else I really didn't like. Dr. Bird's is the only 2/10 I've given this decade but some 3s and 4s:

    3/10
Cinderella (the musical starring Camilla Cabello)
    The Boss Baby: Family Business
    Morbius

    4/10:
    Halloween Kills
    Cruella
    Cocaine Bear
    The 355
    Space Jam: A New Legacy
    Capone
    Impractical Jokers: The Movie
    Desperadoes

Space Jam 2 was the second best horror movie of the decade after Skinamarink.

    No thank you.

I finally got around to watching Civil War(2024) last night and I really enjoyed it. I didn't really know what to expect going in, but I was thinking it would be more of an action flick. Pleasantly surprised that it was a much more human story.Kirsten Dunst was incredible. She absolutely nailed the emotional exhaustion one could expect of a long time war journalist. Cailee Spaeny also gave an excellent performance, I had never seen her in anything before, but now I want to watch Alien: Romulus. You could see her getting addicted to the adrenaline as the movie progressed.

I don't get the opportunity to see many current movies, but I'm very glad I took the time to sit down and watch this one.

I feel like it would be the worst to someone if they heard all the praise but didn't really have a lot of experience with something so plotless and seemingly directionless.
