trump's insane response to and handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and his politicization of basic public health measures like masking and social distancing and his complete and utter disregard for public safety and the lives and well being of the citizens of this country killed a literally unquantifiable number of Americans and others around the world and grievously harmed even more to a degree that we still do not fully understand and won't for years to come if we ever do at all

Trump is def winning this thing with MI and WI going to him, so with him getting two more (likely) cracks at putting in Supreme Court justices this is gonna get very ugly.

Thankfully my partner works for a Canadian company and has the ability to be sponsored for citizenship.

It’s going to get VERY bad for minorities and LGBT under Trump, granted Kamala would keep a lot of the already shitty stuff status quo with little advancement, Trump will go further and roll back existing rights.

It’s wild that this genocide will not only wipe out an entire population, but the justified response to that in our elections will ultimately create issues in our country that will take decades to unravel, if ever.

 

We'll never know for sure because Trump both increased drone warfare in a huge way but also changed the rules so that the White House didn't have to keep track of or release casualties from those drone strikes. All we know for sure is civilian casualties went up by hundreds of %s in various countries, I think, with some rough estimates that aren't official unfortunately.

True it was horrible but Biden didn’t do better when he got in office. It was more allowing covid to run wild while also cutting covid programs, just without the overt politicization.

there is this strange effect around trump where he says the most batshit insane stupid things but they always end up being cleaned up or whitewashed or de-crazied by the other people in the conversation simply because they are rational and reasonable people.

Biden handled COVID very poorly by reasonable standards but he was nowhere near as bad as trump. I honestly think that trump being president at the time that COVID-19 hit made the pandemic exponentially worse in a multitude of ways

yeah, I am not trying to defend Biden's handling of it here, but I think it is demonstrably incorrect to say that trump wasn't worse than Biden - there are so many insane stories like this about shit that trump did, and I'm sure there are so many more that we aren't even privy to

 

I had forgotten about that until the Putin testing story came out and someone somewhere pointed out that he told the states to basically get their own supplies and then was outbidding the states on those supplies....fucking insane

 

I feel like most presidents would have the wherewithal to at least pretend to give a shit that large numbers of American citizens are dying or are about to die and not be making the focus whether those people voted for you or not
