Yeah a Free Record Shop, it was there for many years

 

I used to hang out for hours in the Free Record Shop at Nijmegen Centraal. Those were the days!

 

Same but at FAME, it was so sick

 

YES! that was the store with the basement that had different rooms for different genres right? Awesome place. Didn’t it move to Magna Plaza? I went there once, but it wasn’t the same.

 

Yeah exactly, like 5 super nerdy but large genre record stores in one, plus videogames. It was amazing. I did move to Magna Plaza for a while, spread out across several stores. It was relatively similar sstill in terms in inventory but it really wasn’t the same. Actually it “moved” once more to the basement of the Media Markt close to the library, but I went there once and at that point it was mostly just a name they slapped on their own terrible music section. I wish I hadn’t gone. At least at Magna Plaza it was still sort of real.

I love the idea. But I hate that none of it is purchasable. It’s all drawings. Huge pass for me.

 

To be fair, it would be pretty hard to mass produce any of those.

It's the reverse, isn't it? You're competing for the opportunity to buy, not paying for the opportunity to compete.

Seems like it’s basically the same idea except you’re paying twice, and the second payment to actually purchase could be…an insane amount they didn’t disclose up front?
