Yes holy shit that's an incredible price. I have the XM3 headphones and they're amazing. They last like 30 hours on a single charge, charge quickly, great ANC, excellent sound quality and very comfy. These are usually like $300 to $350. Also includes an aux cord if you want to connect to a PlayStation controller.

Btw, not sure if the XM4s are an improvement, but the mic is absolute trash on mine, though. People can't really hear me well on work calls. Even my ear buds are much better. Dunno if that's a deciding factor for you if you plan to game with them.

 

Oh looks like that's the used "good" condition price. Not sure how I'd feel about wearing headphones that someone else wore. For Amazon anyways. Target looks like it's the new price.

 

Ive use these a couple years now and they’re great

the issue I was having yesterday was with my Bluetooth receiver not the headphones

It's Amazon Prime Day here tomorrow, not sure about the States, but possibly that deal is someone jumping the gun at either Prime Day or Black Friday deals? Might be worth keeping an eye out just in case other places pick up on it.

 

Can someone with better gaming knowledge tell me how to feel about all the Halo news. Infinite is finally fun to play but idk what any of the updates mean for the series in general

Coming off Game Pass soon and I’d been meaning to get around to it since it came out. A lot to appreciate about this game but it’s so obtuse, ended up just playing with a walkthrough. I’ll be interested to see what Ebb Software do next.

 

Got a week off work so planning to start Silent Hill 2 tomorrow and hopefully have it done by Friday to start Metaphor. What a week.

I'm studying up on which seems more fun between quill volley eagle or stinger centipede.

 

Infinite has always been fun to play. If it's one thing 343 got right was the core gameplay, even if I still hate sprint. At least it was far less egregious.

But I guess in regards to what's happening with Halo, most Halo fans would tell you this is nothing but positive news. Moving to an engine that isn't complete crap is a start. The Halo engine they've been fiddling with since 2001 has always been a disaster to work with. The rebranding of 343 into Halo Studios is also apparently a great thing. There's multiple projects in development, which is supposedly awesome.

Personally, I thought the update was mostly meaningless, except for the game engine news I guess. It really comes down to this. Most of the higher ups that have been at 343 for years have left or were fired. A lot of the developers have also left or were fired. Halo Studios is pretty much an entirely new studio at this point. Which also means, they've proven nothing. So until they do so, I have zero opinion on the studio as a whole. Whether this is good news or bad news can only be figured out in retrospect. Some Halo fans actually think it's impossible for any studio to be worse than 343, so they're taking this as definitive good news. They're delusional of course, but I guess ignorance is bliss.

As for multiple projects, it sounds like something born from the game engine change as multiple projects was probably impossible on the previous engine. And if you are a Halo fan at all, it's nice to get some kind of news that Halo will have a future. Personally, I'm a quality over quantity guy. I'd rather them just work on one game. To each their own. I can't really tell you how to feel but I think it's best not to get too positive about all this news. Better to keep a level head and wait for the proof that Halo is in better hands.

okay sorry, I have to jump in here because what has been said before me isn't fully accurate.

The qualities of the Slipstream Engine (343's in house built Halo engine) non-withstanding, the problem is that Microsoft has a really shitty policy when it comes to contractors, only letting them work at the company 18 months at a time, ensuring that by the time they're comfortable with the tools to actually work on Halo, they're almost out the door.
With a switch to Unreal, onboarding is far quicker and people can just come and work on Halo as if it was any other project in the industry.
This will also help when outsourcing Halo projects to outside studios after 343 (or Halo studio or whatever) has done the prototyping in house.

So them switching to Unreal Engine is actually a net positive for the franchise because the people working on it can actually work on a game instead of babying their own engine.

Obviously if you're aware of my posting history, I'm a huge Unreal Engine 5 believer* (even though I am not super fond of Epic) so the very least I can say that the next Halo will look fucking unbelievable.

*have you seen Silent Hill 2 Remake?

oh and you know what else Unreal Engine 5 makes real fucking easy? Porting to PS5.
