I liked the ending but the segments were a mixed bag, the level of paranormal was strangely inconsistent

  2. Oh shit, it's my pick

I will be catching up on Tales From the Crypt this weekend, but since I'm planning on watching this one tonight as well, let's go with something I haven't seen: Eight Eyes, directed by Austin Jennings, on Shudder

  3. Starting this now

  4. So this is like you made a European version of the Texas Chain Saw Massacre, incorporated a key component of Get Out, and then also added bits of House of 1000 Corpses, Hostel, and even a little bit of Martyrs. It was pretty good! And fun! Much less grisly than I anticipated, mostly well-written and acted (especially by the first-time actor playing Saint Peter), but very stylishly directed. Hopefully others can enjoy it for what it is! A solid 7 for me.

Still behind big time but trying to catch up so I watched half of Tales from the Crypt last night. Enjoying it so far and thought that Peter Cushing's segment was heartbreaking even if we do get the revenge at the very end.

Eight Eyes was pretty cool. You can definitely tell which films it's influenced by. Aaron's review nails it

Kinda loved Tales from the Crypt. Really charming and loved the whole proverbial tale thing they had going just to pull the carpet out from under you at the end

Oh crap!! Okay give me a minute. I have one but it’s only on Shudder right now from what I can see and I wanna have at least a few streaming options

I got a sub for October, but have also been very bad at keeping up for the last couple of weeks.

Okay then my pick is Calvaire! Belgian film about a traveling musician who breaks down in a small village where not everything is what it seems. On Shudder from what I can see.

Yeah, Calvaire did get a bit fucked up near the end there. Kinda weird too, I was a little confused about why certain things were happening lol. I enjoyed it more than I didn't at least!

A lot of Psycho and Texas Chainsaw influence, but yeah a very disturbing and weird lil film

  25. Sorry guys, I've been going through some life stuff that's left me seeking out comfort media, but I am watching Calvaire today (I promise) and Tales From the Crypt is still on my list. I love this little club, so I don't mean to be not contributing to the discussion. I'll chime back in soon!

In the meantime, @Daniel is up
