Zelda is waaaaay better than I thought it would be. I dont know why, I think a combination of it being a new format and not really liking the links awakening remake, but this is a great new entry in the Zelda series. Just beat the Gerudo Dungeon and it is the best Zelda dungeon since Twilight Princess.

Totally agree. This is my game of the year for sure, it's the only game this year that has held my attention for more than a couple hours

 

still waiting on Bomberman 64.....

with the possibility of a Switch 2 on the horizon, do yall think we're still gonna get Gamecube games on NSO or will Nintendo sort thru that library and do the select Remake/Remaster/Port for full price game?
with how friendly Capcom's been lately, they need to get a Viewtiful Joe remaster/sequel/something out there, i never got a chance to play those games

 

I think GCN emulation wouldn’t be as good as people would want it to be so they’re hesitant. Also there’s the whole thing with the analogue triggers (see the awkward workaround in Sunshine).

 

Yeah, since Nintendo uses emulation in order to run their NSO systems, I genuinely do not think they could even get it running reliably on ancient hardware like the Switch heh. You need a decently powerful device for that. Especially on a mobile handheld - you're not gonna get Dolphin running well on a cheaper android phone, but if you have something like an S23U you'll be totally fine with their Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip

 

Yeah but a lot of games will emulate a little wonky, even if the machine can handle it, normies aren’t used to that

 

Wellp, Nintendo has officially killed all Switch emulation. They convinced the Ryujinx developer to end the project

 

Updating did not help BUT I realized it was actually the right controller disconnecting, not the left. I think I fixed it by using a qtip to clean out the connector at the bottom and it seems to have done the trick. It was disconnecting when tilted it back while attached and is currently not doing it any more, so hopefully it was just some dust disrupting the connection to the switch.

 

with a possible announcement possibly maybe happening this month maybe, i've been wondering a lot what the launch titles for the Switch 2* are gonna be.

like, i think Prime 4 is a LOCK. i'm mainlining copium that Mario Odyssey 2 is gonna be one as well.
what else y'all got?
i don't follow the details of what each team under Nintendo are doing at any given moment, so any of my speculation is pretty much vibe-based.
like! what if we're getting every stage from every Mario Kart in 8DX because Nintendo have an all-new Mario Kart 9 lined up?

I think Moose is right, they still have some Switches to sell this Holiday Season.

They did reveal the Switch in October but we have to remember that they only did that because they were in a desperate need to make the public move on from the Wii U. They can ride the high of the Switch for as long as possible and I don't see why they wouldn't just wait until after the holidays after Zelda and Mario Party launches.

It's a safe assumption to make but with Nintendo they could literally skywrite the name of their next console on a Thursday afternoon and drop it two months later and I wouldn't be surprised at this point with how weird they are haha.

 

Yeah I don't expect a switch 2 reveal before Christmas.

That said, I've been playing through Echoes of Wisdom. Currently finished 4 dungeons and have about 70% of the map uncovered. I'll try to finish it this weekend while watching some football.

 

Everyone is playing Echoes meanwhile I just conquered my fear of lynels for the first time since the release of BOTW. I conquered the forest coliseum with 5 back to back lynels with ease.

My Echoes copy gets delivered today so I'll finally put down Tears. Beating a lynel with just good fighting technique was the last thing I needed to do in that game.

 

idk, i think they could possibly announce it sooner. i don't think it'd slow down sales of any software (tho Switch sales will def take a hit)

@mescalineeyes didn't FE Engage just come out like last year? i don't think there'll be a new one anytime soon. maybe dlc (idk what's already been released for it)

Real talk for a second, I really wish Nintendo would revive StarTropics as their weird version of Tomb Raider. It would be so perfect, and it's heartbreaking that the reason it will never happen is because it was made by NOA and so Japan doesn't even really know it exists.
