yeah if you mean Fukunaga he sucks. but I don't know how much of his script for IT they even used anyway, from what I've read they heavily rewrote it after he left

As far as I was aware, it was basically his script. But idk what the rules are with claiming what work was done or redone. I just know IT is good while the sequel isn’t and True Detective season 1 is good while the following season isn’t. At least that’s my opinion. Feels like a common thread there, but that’s just me guessing. Lol I really do remember reading somewhere that it the script was mostly kept the same. I wouldn’t be shocked if I was wrong though.

Also sorry, I hope that original comment didn’t come off as me coming at you for saying he’s good or something. I really meant that it was unfortunate that was the case.

no haha I'm totally with you, he's a shitty dude and it's worth saying. was just going off some stuff I read where Muschietti said they added a lot of the shapechanging Pennywise stuff after Fukunaga left, like the painting that Stan is scared of which is specifically based on something from Andy's childhood. I guess it's impossible to know for sure with these movies that get rewritten like 5 times haha

The decision to make Salem's Lot period to the era the book was written and not set in the contemporary era was great.

  11. yeah hellraiser 2 is like so much better than the first one haha

It's What's Inside was a fun time. Nothing spectacular. A little bit of Talk to Me, Bodies Bodies Bodies, and a splash of Euphoria? (the way it's stylized more than anything lol)

  14. It's definitely going to get compared to Talk to Me and Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. I loved it though when I saw it last year. So I'm excited to see how it's held up.

new Salem's Lot was fine imo, not great but not bad. obviously cut out a lot of the character work from the novel which I was prepared for going in, but Father Callahan especially is absolutely gutted which is gonna be a big point of contention with King die-hards lol. most of the actors were fine but the dude who played Straker was overdoing it super hard, more camp than creepy

I will say for a film directed by a writer it looked great, stylish shots and great use of colours throughout. some very entertaining kills too. kinda liked it more towards the end when it just fully embraced being a goofy let's kill vampires movie but I was also getting more buzzed by then

Anyone in here interested in the Silent Hill 2 remake that comes out next week? The original is one of my favorite games of all time so I'm skeptical but I've read good things from initial reviews.

I was interested once I started hearing it was actually good. I just watched this an hour ago and it sold me though. I’m broke though so it’ll be awhile for me. Lol

Yeah I'm by no means a gamer (I'll play the new RE games when they come out) but I have friends who buy up so many new titles upon release and I just don't see how it's sustainable. It's so expensive in general
