No, that's him keeping to simplistic talking points that as you say later, toe the line. No one's gonna go out there and talk about what happened in the lead up to October 7th or the history of the region in a debate where you get 2 minutes to speak, because even if you say it perfectly, you'll never actually be able to go into enough detail in that time and you'll just be accused of "Blaming israel for a terrorist attack on their people" etc blah blah. Not saying you have to like it or not criticize him for it, but as you followed up in the rest of this post, surely you expected it. And he can both 1. be wrong for saying that, regardless of the why's, and 2. still clearly misspeak in the following sentence lol. Again, talking about "israel and their proxies in the region" "expanding" makes little sense, but you know, and I know you know, that american politicans talk about the "expansion of Iran and its proxies in the region" literally all the time. We can criticize Tim Walz's parroting American talking points on Israel without pretending that he's calling for the expansion of "israel and its proxies" in the region lol

I uhhh think you're taking my original post in a weird way, it was literally just in response to the discussion about Shaprio's zionism and the effect that played in his not being the choice for VP. It was followed up with comments alluding to well clearly Walz is a zionist too did you see hwat he said in the debate, so it must not have been zionism that was the issue with Shapiro. and all I said was that, comparing the two, Shapiro's zionism appeared to be on another level from Walz's, and that Walz probably leans more towards the majority of dems on the issue while Shapiro's past writings point to a way more conservative, aggressive type of zionism. So if the campaign was taking it into consideration at all, it's very easy to see how in interviews they might have come across a little differently on the issue, especially taking vetting of past statements into account. No where in there was it meant to be some sort of "Defense" of Walz towing the campaign line lol. It was simply talking about the two candidates and their zionism in the context of why Shapiro wasn't the pick and if zionism had any part in it. Okay?

Wait, I thought that when professional failure Geoff Garin told the Harris campaign to stop doing everything that sent their approval rating skyrocketing they gave his ass the boot, but now I'm hearing they actually gave him the reins and that's why they've stopped saying "we won't go back" and calling the GOP weird and gross?

At this point I'm convinced that Dems with organic momentum are only ever viewed as a threat to the oligarchy in America. Someone dropped the hammer when Harris cinched the nom at the DNC

Im actually pretty concerned about Israel’s efforts to expand and “redraw borders” with Lebanon, where the administration that’s running for reelection is currently backing them unconditionally. So “expansion of Israel” is something for which I actually take Tim at his word - his party’s actions line up with what he said, which mirrors Israel’s stated goals. Because he stammered through his response, I’m not sure what he means by “proxies” either. I’ll be on the lookout for clarification if he offers it and says he doesn’t support Israel expanding.

I don't think Shapiro's support for Israel or the fact that he actively helped cover up a murder SO HARD played into her not picking him for VP much at all - it really came down to her seeing Shapiro as too ambitious and more of a threat to her outweighing any benefit he would bring

okay, I just I went back and watched the longer clip and I honestly don't know what the hell Walz was trying to say there. I am assuming he meant to say "stopping the expansion of Iran and it's proxies....." because, well USA I guess, but that's definitely not what he said at all and it is literally putting words in his mouth that he didn't say

J.D. Vance even makes a WTF face when he says it and you can even see him trying to work out in his head what the hell did this guy just say

True, American politicians talk about Israel’s Daesh allies all the time on the stump.

You know no one here calls the Kurds Israeli “proxies”, let alone ISIS, and no one in America thinks of them that way lol. Or I guess you could go with the idea that Tim Walz wants to create Kurdistan as an Israeli proxy and allow ISIS to win in Syria, and got ahead of the entire Democratic Party apparatus on the issue—the same one that famously got blasted for abandoning the Kurds (well, Trump/Repubs took more of that heat obviously the most recent time)

    youre reaching, man

  20. i don’t care about Tim Waltz I am saying Israel indeed has proxies, one of them is an extant Kurdistan in Syria!

Sure but thanks to us Israel doesn’t really need to depend on any of them to the point where I’d call them “proxies” the same way Iran mostly has to depend on Hezbollah or Hamas to strike at Israel most of the time. Israel usually just strikes with their own IDF, acting our proxy lol. Of course they’ll send weapons and shit to groups when it’s convenient or advantageous for a brief time but none of it seems sustained in the way we arm Israel or Iran arms hezbollah or etc. Like I don’t really think of the Kurds as American proxies the same way I see Israel as one since we kinda just tell the Kurds to go fuck themselves half the time until it’s convenient to help them again. And all this is to say that I doubt Tim Walz was thinking of “Israeli proxy expansion” and using a phrase no other senior dem politician seems to have used as far as I can tell lol. The whole “steady leadership” part sounds like talking about dealing with the threats that Iranian proxies pose.

only group I can remember being referred to as possible Israeli proxies were those Iranian dissident groups but I thought I read they were really just our proxies and we were the ones arming/training them? Cant remember their name.
