Unfortunately, people set a low bar for what is not racist. To many, racists are people who get up and the first thought in their head is burning crosses and deporting Mexicans. They don't understand how they can be complicit in racism by avoiding its reality or voting for a candidate despite his racism and xenophobia.

This is a great start. it's time for these people to be moving into middle America and laying the foundation of resistence there. Vermont already loves bernie, he needs to be talking to kids in the counties that turned red. let them know that the hispanic/black/gay kid in school is his friend, not his enemy. the enemy is orange.

 

it makes drawing conclusions from the results incredibly problematic. for all the valid criticisms and lessons to be learned, she may very well have run a winning campaign that lost (while still getting the popular vote) because of unprecedented interference from forces like the FBI, Russia, Wikileaks.

With regard to Wikileaks, I found some value in what they posted. I will not lie. However, those who continue to defend them, I will never understand. They've chosen a side here. Quite simply, their hatred of the elites, of whom Hillary is a representative, mutated into a distorted belief that engineering an election for a fascist would lead to a multi-polar world in which America was no longer powerful. It does not work like that. Empire, in the hands of a fascist, will wreak destruction across the world with the assistance of Putin; the political economy of resentment will eviscerate all those to whom they feel entitled and the new world will be united in the blood and exploitation of more, not less, people.

 

It's a safer bet to ally yourself with the oppressor than the oppressed.
