It is easily my favorite hip hop album.

 

A Boogie's TBA EP is pretty good. Still not my favorite but I enjoy this more than some of his other stuff

I know it has its own thread, but everyone should be listening to this Tribe record if you're not already.

It's really fucking good. Q-Tip is the rapper Eminem wishes he could be in 2016.

On some parts his flow is fast and his lyrics are complicated, yet he still sounds smooth. Whenever Eminem tries to flex these days he ends up sounding like an angry middle aged man, even if the song clearly is not meant that way. Might be a weird thing to say but it's something that came to mind when I listened to the album, haha.

I think Em has proven his technical prowess time and time again and is currently searching for a persona that will make him relevant again. Short of completely dismantling the racist majority of his followers in favor of actually speaking out against atrocities, he'll probably stick to bad puns and an accent.

 

Love the new Tribe but i dont hear any eminem in this album at all

I was never huge on them back in the day but enjoyed a few songs on Midnight Marauders. If i rly wanted to dig into their stuff, what is a good order to listen in?

I did not remind me of Eminem. I'm not sure I can explain how I got there beyond what I wrote before. It doesn't matter anyway. The album is great. Also, nice to hear that Busta can still rap.

New Tribe is dope. 3 rotations in after seeing them on SNL last night.

 

ODB died 12 years ago today

 

ODB is still one of them artists that if I been on a kick of anything else and I throw him on I have to change my listening in a way, and i love it. He's a legend. "There's no father to his style."

 

Still one of the essential Wu solo albums I need to listen to.
