This year has really made me reconnect with JRPGs especially turn based ones.

Tempted to spend all of 2025 on Trails

I think they did but they changed their name. And I also imagine they don’t have an actual product anymore.

 

It's now going to be called AIShark, owned by someone separate from InterAct or Mad Catz, and it's a hint system fueled by AI, no longer a cheat device.

Mad Catz meanwhile went full peripheral company for a long time, until they went bankrupt after the market for rhythm games imploded. They revived under new management, still making peripherals, and even financed a game that has mixed reviews on Steam.

PSN is finally back up after being down for like 8 hours

 

Ok so I beat Yakuza 6 after a marathon lol. Uhhh it might be tied with 2 for my second favorite game behind 0. It has comedy, it has heartbreak, it had a REALLY good story that kept you guessing. I know ALL of the games are full of twists and turns but this one takes the crown imo. I was Not a expecting to fall in love with kiryu's new buddies but I really did! Even Joongyi Han and Someya! But I always had a voice in the back of my mind asking where the OGs were and I was glad to see Daigo, Majima and Saejima finally show up at the end. Speaking of the end whew. Even though I knew the big spoiler regarding LaD7 going in, I didn't know exactly HOW it would be set into motion. So right up to b fore the hospital scene, even though I knew he WASN'T gone, IT FELT LIKE HE WAS GONE after the final battle. And then his final letter? I thought he was writing Haruka but then you realize it's Daigo and it hits even harder! Damn, I really wish I hadn't encountered that wild spoiler cuz after this game ended I KNOW LaD7 had people losing their shit.

What a series, wow.
