To be fair to The Floor, you declare a category that you think youre strongest in and you have to defend it if someone picks you. Then if you win, you absorb their spot on the floor AND you now inherit whatever category they chose as their own. Likewise, if you are in control of the board, you go after someone else, and you have to beat them in their chosen category. It's a interesting concept and how the show puts the categories into action seems to vary. I remember on the first season someone's category was some sort of book related one (literature? childrens lit? something like that) and the contestants were given the book covers with fill in the blank titles I think. Some are definitely dumber than others. SOmeone last season had like kitchen utensils or something as theirs, and yeah you got obvious ones like fork and spoon and shit but then there were others where if you don't spend a ton of time cooking or watching cooking shows, they were tough lol
