An orc saying the line “I thought you loved us?” just came off as goofy to me

Probably but it is still crazy, especially next to the whole “Zoom in on the Orcs and their bloody mouths to show how scary they are”

Adar as one of the original elves twisted by Melkor is a really cool idea to explore. Considering the orcs are all their descendants, continuously twisted by evil to no longer look like elves, I suppose there would be children. But they're humanizing something beyond redemption within the story itself, while also presenting them as such. It's a strange decision.

so, how were the Orcs fighting in the daylight both at the beginning and end of the siege?

also, tall daddy orc is definitely gonna turn on Adar for treating the orcs the same way Sauron would have.

I'm wondering if they might have acquired rights to certain things from The Silmarillion since the show started. The last couple episodes mentioned Morgoth, Feanor, and the Silmarils.
I'm still not convinced that whole storyline is actually happening on the same timeline, and not just because having the Istari around before the Third Age doesn't align with Tolkien's works. Everyone in it seems blissfully unaware of what's transpiring all over the rest of the show.
I think they're building up to a point where it makes sense for the orcs to turn on Adar and follow Sauron.
Sam Hazeldine has been playing him all of season 2.

Take this with a grain of salt as I am not a huge LOTR aficionado, and while this show is far from perfect, it's really not all that bad to me. I enjoy each episode to varying degrees.

Some of the reactions are SO extreme and angry and personal towards the creators, I just can't fathom getting that angry about a TV show.

i like this theory, but wasn't the Harfoot's grove destroyed by the aftermath of Mount Doom erupting last season?

Ohh, you're right! Well, I guess so much for the multiple timelines theory.

The Balrog looks fantastic. You can definitely tell this is the most expensive show ever made when the CGI looks that good. Also goes to show how insane WETA was on the film trilogy’s effects because it’s still not as good as how it looks in the films to me.

I enjoyed this season. Even if more the vibes than how it’s written. But I dig a lot of the characters and I guess that’s what makes it work for me.

Just finished the S2 finale. Overall the production design is obviously great and Jeff Bezos spared no expensive. The cinematography is wonderful as well. That said, the story continues to be the Achilles heel. When it sticks to the source, it’s great. When they make up their own stuff it gets messy.

Overall I’d give this season a slightly higher score than S1. 8.3/10

Hopefully we don’t have to wait a full 2 years for season 3.

Opening scene with the Durins was incredible. Think most of this finale was pretty good with everything surrounding Sauron. Still feel like they have too many storylines going on though. They really havent given me any reason to care about Arondir/Theo/Isildur after 2 seasons. Im checking out a bit every time they cut to Numenor too.

I haven't watched the finale yet but all the nitpicking just reminded me of a John Oliver clip from the Hawaii episode. He talks about how TV was better back then, not because the TV show was, but the audiences were.

I know people whine when companies blame the audience and the gamers for being at fault for poor sales and reception, but I see it so much. People pre judge something normally due to absurd reasons (wokeness) and then hold it to higher standards and nitpick it beyond belief.

Again - this season has been far from perfect. The pacing is off, there are whole storylines without arcs this season, and I don't think the cutting and meshing of the various world states has worked, but I see some complaints and it's like you could attack anything with that level of scrutiny but you you know... you don't... hmmmm... wonder why.
