God this fucking sucks

 

I get it. She had like 7 days in a row of shows and these made the most sense to cancel because it’s a festival, I’m not mad at her for taking a couple extra days to rest.

But damnit it sucks

 

Man, that really sucks. It’s good she’s keeping her priorities straight, but terrible to everyone who was excited to see her:

 

I feel terrible for the people who are disappointed, cus I know I would've been crushed if she dropped out of Lolla. I also hope people are sympathetic (they won't be). There's no way to prepare for the kind of year she had, and I truly don't think she was expecting it to happen at all, at least on this scale.

I'm sure all the hate she's been getting for her comments on the election isn't helping. I can't even imagine being asked to weigh in on these things with millions of people listening to me, especially when there is literally no way to make everyone happy.

 

Thank god she's in full writing mode from November to May as she said in a recent interview, will give her time to step out of the spotlight so people will hopefully move on to another target by then and she'll come back swinging with new material from next Spring onwards

 

I just now realized the NYC and DC dates of that festival were completely overlapping and she had to play one and then the other in the same weekend. That is so weird.

I guess people knew what they were signing up for but still, I feel like that makes the stress and desire to cancel even more understandable. Dealing with all the nuances of a festival show twice in a row in the same weekend combined with the travel is very difficult. Add in the harassment she's constantly receiving and yeah I'd cancel too

 

Damn, I feel really bad for her, it really seems like she needs time away but you can tell she is trying to balance that with also grabbing onto this newfound fame. Seems really difficult

Lotta acts are doing both. Obviously hope she gets well but she was essentially the de facto headliner of these shows so understandably a lot of people will be upset.

 

Yeah I think it’s a weird thing for any act to deal with

 

I imagine the ridiculous heat from the liberals with brainworms from her election comments certainly helped push her to have to cancel on it, super unfortunate. I was considering going at one point as a surprise to my sister who was the one who got into Chappell right before she blew up, but I couldn't nail down the tickets and timing.

 

I wonder if the backlash from the cancelations and the election comments, while undeserved, will cause her rabid fan base to calm down and back off a little

 

I will say the one thing that sucks is that it doesn’t seem she gave them much notice. Like I think it was today. Someone pointed this out.

Yeah nothing for ATG to do. Unless they randomly throw a bunch of money at someone but there's no need to as the fest is sold out and they're not offering refunds.

 

Absolute worst case scenario she eventually steps down from performing altogether. Too many ppl on the hype train, lots of bad actors derailing it for everyone else. Ppl need to stop being so dumb. Or at the very least they need to chillaxorz

All while being harassed for everything she says or doesn’t say all day every day.

 

She's been basically speed running the worst aspects of fame the past few months. I'm glad she's taking time off even if some people are disappointed, this could be a lot worse.

 

It sucks but I’ll be fine. I’d rather her take the time she needs to get better than force herself through it and then end up in an even worse place.
