Speaking of, NLOTH is 15 years old today.

So close to greatness. Unfocused but with some genuinely exciting material. Moment of Surrender is a Top 20 song of theirs. I’m glad it exists, funky as it is.

    "Magnificent" is also a top-tier U2 song.

Moment of Surrender into Unknown Caller is genuinely on par with anything they've ever done imo

I'm listening to War because New Year's Day came on the radio recently. These guys have becomes such a meme that it's sometimes hard to remember (though I was never a hater) just how sick they were.

yeah AB is truly one of those albums where I can understand literally any song being someone's favourite. do think So Cruel is lyrically Bono's best work by far tho

Ultraviolet for me, though wild horses is a great pick I feel like that song is super underrated

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

Ultraviolet easily my #1, not just of AB but their discography. That song absolutely kills it for me.

Jumbo How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb reissue, complete with an imagined second album of b-sides, called How to Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb, coming out in November.

'HOW TO RE-ASSEMBLE AN ATOMIC BOMB'

    First two tracks from it:

Well I hope there’s some good stuff in here. I’ve never connected well with this album outside a handful of tracks unfortunately

Also really missing out on not calling the last track All Because of 2

I instantly like Country Mile better than most of the original album lol. that's a banner U2 somg right there

Picture just being a clumsily edited version of Xanax and Wine is a bit underwhelming though, makes me concerned about what they might have done to Mercy. this band and constantly tinkering with shit that's already finished, I swear to god

I'm actually extremely fond of this album/era of the band, so I'm excited to hear this stuff. "Country Mile" is great.

Yeah country mile is fantastic, I feel like Bono’s vocals are harkening back to his younger days in some way. Dig it

Edge's vocals are the real star on Country Mile for me, he sounds fantastic. wonder if that one got some recent touchups like they did for Wave of Sorrow and Disappearing Act from the other reissues

    The Fly

I am SO pleasantly surprised by this release. I love that these songs are getting the "album" treatment, not to mention that it sounds like some of them have some new vocals/have likely been worked up in the last year as full songs. Probably one of the more compelling anniversary releases they've done.

The vinyl box set is insanely overpriced though and I'm annoyed they aren't releasing Live in Chicago on streaming services... but I've already got the DVD rip in my library which will have to do. Always a few bewildering decisions with U2 releases, lol.
