My take on AI and automation that supplements or replaces labor has always been that it just a tool. It can be used for good or for bad. It just comes down to who owns it, workers or capital.

 

This has gotta be like, I dunno, in the top 500 of the most racist things an elected official has said this year.

A dude I grew up with deployed to that base as an air force aircraft mechanic. It is a pretty common military deployment location. It doesn't mean anyone who gets sent there is a spook lol

I think my two main issues with AI is that we have been shown time and time again that whatever is feeding their algorithm is taking people's copyrighted and trademarked work to fuel their algo and not either compensating people for it or keeping it from feeding their algo if people dissent from it.

The other is mainly when it comes to things like AI Pictures/Videos or AI assisted pictures/videos is that we are quickly approaching a place where they can be manipulated in ways that 99% of people can't tell.

 

my main issue with AI is that he doesn't do enough strength and conditioning. basketball can't be your only workout and if it is, it will likely lead injury and a quicker decline in production as his career goes on.

One thing about the left is a lot of people have some unrealistic twisted assumption that everyone in the military is a evil tactical guy physically doing war crimes. 98% of people in the military work shitty office jobs or shitty mechanic/tech jobs, never see combat, never go outside the wire, and get out the second their enlistment is up.

I think it is important to make that distinction. I say this as someone who knows people connected to actual evil war crime stuff.
