Barking is probably my favorite on here, and it joins a few others on this album as the best Foxing songs.

Not a single song I dislike at this point.

There seems to be a lack of appreciation for just how fucking good the opening 3 tracks to this album are. Secret History/Hell 99/Spit is an outrageous run.

  3. You're just gonna leave "Greyhound" out of that run?

gets me JACKED UP. Not overlistening to "Hell 99" when it came out was huge. what a ripper.

must of felt cathartic to record that one.

Tough call - an excellent song in its own right, but it's such a dramatic shift in tone and texture, I can't include it in the run.

I’m having a weird time with this record. I leave each song having enjoyed them, and there isn’t anything i don’t like, but by the end it’s such an exhausting listen that I struggle to recall specific things I wanna hear again save for barking and a couple others.

This has been my experience so far as well.

Only song that hasn’t entirely clicked with me yet is Cry Baby. I see a lot of praise for it, so I’m gonna keep holding out for it to grow for me, but I really like Frozen Heads as a bookend. I’m not too partial to piano only songs which is probably preventing me from clicking it more than it should.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I love piano songs and I think Cry Baby is extremely okay

The outro to Cry Baby hits home.

I understand the record being an exhaustive listening experience. It's not something you throw on and passively listen to, at least I don't. It's good in the car during a long commute or just sitting still with some good headphones and listening without any distractions. Like, actually listening to it and letting the music move you.

I’ve actually exclusively been listening to it in long commutes, maybe I need to switch it up somehow

i've been playing secret history a little too loud when people congregate near my desk for too long. seems to work every time.

Saw them play it last night in St. Paul, what an incredible show. Songs translated very well live.

i’ve been meaning to tell you

i am so stoked for my show on saturday, they always crush it live. i only checked the first setlist of this tour but from what i remember it looked like a good mix of this album and nmg with a few other songs sprinkled in, which is ideal for me.

    Got a light?

I love Cry Baby, perfect way to close such a chaotic album, at first I felt like Hall was more of a closer and Cry Baby was kind of a credits rolling vibe but this album is a true grower in the sense it continues to grow and be processed 20+ listens in

Listening to this on the way home from work in the blinding rain of the outer bands of a hurricane was exhilarating.

  22. I hope the band doesn't hate Draw Down the Moon even if fan reaction is mixed. It's probably the album of theirs I return to most and find the most memorable considering how big the hooks are.

Good guy, but a bad dude

One of those bands where their willingness to try new things should be appreciated. I’m stoked to never have the faintest idea of what a Foxing record will sound like prior to release

I randomly remembered this today so thought I'd share

Years ago my roommate and still good friend was this lovely woman who is a baby boomer/gen x cusp I think. Relevant because she's not so great with technology.

One day she told me she had no idea how talented, poetic, and deep I am. I had no idea what she was talking about. She told me she saw my Instagram story

She saw my story which had Nearer My God playing and it was the format where it shows the lyrics as the song plays, but she hadn't turned her volume on so she didn't know it was a song

And that's how my old rm thought I wrote Nearer My God
