Be careful out there this year! Temps are still over 100 during the day and that venue has literally zero shade. I’ve been to so many 3-4 day camping fests and WWWY was easily more exhausting, standing in a parking lot in 100 degree temps is very strenuous on your body.

“But I need to get there 4 hours before doors to run and get on guardrail and wait 12 hours for mcr while wearing my full black parade costume and makeup”

After dying at Iowa Is For Lovers last year with a 115 degree heat index, I’m not messing around with WWWY - planning very carefully

festivals really need to move towards the pit setup at Bonnaroo…allows people to get rail for the acts they want without having to camp at the rail all day.

The front part of the main stage holds maybe 2,500 and they clear it out after EVERY set. You can wait in a queue off to the side for the act you want to see.

also helps the acts biggest fans get closest and create good crowd energy.

I have a question about Bonnaroo system, do fans camp on the queue off to the side to get a spot for the headliner? Is so, are there multiple lines off to the side for different acts all day long?

Naw that sounds crappy too, one band and then kicked out - seems like it just shifts the problem. Just have the entire front of the stage be vip - that’s what paying more should get you.

yep, on the left side of the stage there’s an area where people can queue for whatever act they want on the main stage that day. Even when you’re in that queue you have a really good view of the main stage. Lots of people that camp for a headliner set up a blanket and post up there all day.

Best part about that Bonnaroo pit is that a lot of attendees aren't aware of it. In 2013 I showed up to the Tom Petty set maybe 90 seconds before he started and was able to get in the pit. Also got in pretty easily for Bjork.

I love Coachella because most people clear out between sets regardless. If you show up 10 minutes before just about everyone other than the headliner you’ll be good

the only time it ever felt chaotic was Kanye in 2014. People started rushing the gates and trying to cut off all the people that waited in line.

it got super chaotic and people started jumping those metal barriers and a couple of them tipped, very lucky someone didn’t have their legs crushed.

I'm by no means complaining because this never happens, but it's interesting that WWWY initially got flack for the lack of women on the lineup, & the emo night after parties have zero male guests. I've seen Jess Bowen drum for a bunch of different bands, I wonder who she'll be drumming before that weekend

At sick new world someone passed out at the gates, i'm assuming due to the heat, definitely stay hydrated, water and iv hydration powder.

  18. my friend said he can't go to this and offered me his 2 tickets, but i said no thanks haha. flights+hotel are too much to even make free concert tickets worth it.

I'm not sure why they shipped separately but I got my Saturday wristbands, & the Sunday ones are on the way :thumbup:

It's because we paid separately so they didn't want to refund us for shipping on one of them
