hate to say this but I agree with you

 

It’s one of those songs where you’re like this is just like For Emma…and yet it still scratches a specific itch that that record doesn’t. It’s its own thing, that only Vernon could have made in 2024, not 2007. Great song.

Wow, what a good song, keeps getting better the more I listen. The only thing that throws me off is that it's in standard tuning.

 

I'm one of them people that absolutely adores the first two, but never really connected to the last two. Something about them felt a little impersonal at the time. I'll have to go back now that I'm into more experimental/interesting music.

But yeah, I really enjoyed this. Felt like a throwback, a little, but I loved it.

 

22, AM is a breakthrough in what you’re looking for. Certainly seek out some articles about the artistic process JV was going through at the time. It’ll put the record in better context.

 

Insane that this might be in my Bon Iver top 3 songs. Constant repeat. A song that has come into my life at the exact right moment.
