Darby: forever a bad promo

 

I’ve done everything I could do to get behind Darby but something about him just doesn’t click with me

 

For me, it's that most of his moves look like they don't really have any impact. It's hard to take him seriously when he's not much of a threat to people.

 

You know, it’s so true. He honestly reminds of the nerd in high school

 

A lot of his matches follow the same format - he gets his ass beat for most of the match, maybe gets in some desperate offense, gets cut off and beat down some more, hits some big comeback, coffin drop, pin. They put him with Sting to give him the rub and he was just kinda Sting's partner for most of it, but now he's right back to where he was, sorta just "there" in feuds that don't matter. I was kind of hoping that his foot injury would lead to him taking some time off and maybe adding a little muscle and tweaking his presentation. I think he'd be a fun sadistic heel where he doesn't need to talk a lot since the skateboarding schtick bores me.

The obvious comparison is to Spike Dudley. I don't think I can really remember any Spike Dudley matches, but there's a bunch of spots that stand out.

 

Jey winning the title was bad timing. And where does it go from here?

 

my guess is they strapped up the yeet master to keep his momentum up so he doesn't look like a geek when he shows up in the bloodline story

 

This is pretty cool.

 

I’m typically in the no yeet category but I’m not sure how it’s bad timing for Jey to win. The dude is super over and I’m not sure how else or when they could have done it. I expect Bron to win it back
