Did The 'Burbs for the trapped in a suburban home prompt. Very fun and entertaining, but it didn't really fit the trapped part so I may watch something else for it

  4. Saw the new Speak No Evil tonight, even though I really didn’t want to. I ended up really enjoying it. Especially the different ending.

I saw The Substance on Friday and it was incredible and I was not ready for one of my main celeb crushes in that role. I went in knowing nothing about it and I'm glad I did. One of my favorites from this year.

Ahhhh, The Haunting (1963) was brilliant. I know it makes pretty much every published top 100 list, but I've always been deeply skeptical as the book is one of my all time favorites and it's not the kind of novel that lends itself to film adaptation. I was blown away by every aspect of the movie: the acting, the energy, its confidence, the outstanding cinematography; and it's scary! This one instantly found its place in my heart.

  9. I am HAPPY to report that The Substance belongs on this list :) it's been a long time since I saw a movie THAT chaotic in theaters with an audience. What a brave role for Demi to take. One of the grossest and funniest body horror movies I've ever seen, and it finally surpassed Evil Dead 2013 as the bloodiest movie I've ever seen in theaters. I squirmed and laughed a lot. I want to see it again.

heading back to my hometown tomorrow for my sister's wedding this weekend. we're gonna try to see if we can sneak in a showing at the local Alamo Drafthouse (the one that Chappell Roan filmed part of the HOT TO GO! video behind/the horse mural in the YouTube thumbnail).

  12. I know not everything needs to be compared, but it pretty easily slid into by number two spot after I Saw the TV Glow. Very different movies though lmao

  22. I was actually just considering watching those or Underworld for the first time because I was in the mood for some mindless 2000s horror. I've only seen the first of each respective franchise. Never played the RE games.

THIS. The ones with Milla were fine once it was clear that they were doing something different that just weaved in minor elements from the series but the more recent Johannes Roberts movie was actually made with care from someone who understood the spirit of the games (especially the actual gameplay and story) themselves despite the critical reception. I loved it and just recently watched it again a few weeks ago.

Although I will say, I fucked with Apocalypse when it came out but that was primarily because of the banger soundtrack

I largely dont care about them, but have a negative view because they insisted on calling them RE films when at best they used characters and thats about it
