Love the smaller size of the 16 pro compared to the 13 PM. Going case/no screen protector for now :worried::worried:

I have a cheap clear case I'll use when I want one but my 15 Pro has held up quite well without one. Also use a privacy screen protector these days.

I would love to go case less but working in a warehouse doesn’t quite work for that

The ProMotion or whatever was worth the upgrade from my 12 Mini alone, damn.

Camera button isn’t a game changer or anything but as someone who uses an extremely minimal Home Screen, I like having a side button to launch the camera.

Action button is cool, too - no longer going to struggle to start recording the weird shit my colleagues say. Only complaint I have is it seems there should be more capabilities (tap vs hold, etc.) because I don’t love the idea that I’ll have to go into the settings to go into silent mode if I don’t want to set that as the primary action.

I know it’s only in beta, but the cleanup and writing tools are not good. Hope they improve quickly. Just tried to remove a tiny dog from a photo and it got rid of it but did a horrible job filling the empty space.

Anyway, so far, I’m not regretting upgrading from my 12 Mini. It’s a lot of heavier which I didn’t expect to really notice, but I actually do love the screen size, the ProMotion is absolutely incredible, and I’m glad I finally have an Always On display.

ProMotion was probably the best thing to happen to iPhones in years at the time.

I like email summaries. Much cleaner than expanding the stack to see individual email notifications.

For those that use screen protectors, what did you get for the 16PM?

I've typically used Spigen, but they went up in price again this year, so I ordered some from ESR, which I'd installed on a friend's phone a while back with no issues. Quality is fine and the tray to guide the install is great, but I've found it's like, half a millimeter too small for the new screen and, as a result, I get a bunch of light refraction on the edges.

I ordered a Caudabe screen protector and a TORRAS protector to see how they compared. They haven’t arrived yet, but after reading through the MacRumors forum, I decided to just go to the Apple Store and have them apply the Belkin. It’s only been on here for an hour but so far so good (typing seems to require slightly more pressure but I guess that's to be expected).

Also digging the Apple Silicone case - that's another accessory I've avoided in the past but initial consensus seems to be that it's vastly improved so I'm giving it a shot.

I'll probably end up returning these and going that route, serves me right for straying from my norm. Not that $18 is a lot, but I've pretty much never had a bad experience with other brands for friends' installs, so long as it was tempered glass, so I figured saving a few dollars wouldn't hurt.

Same strategy here. I've perfected it to the point of not even needing to clean the screen in any way before applying the protector, haha.

Whoaaa, the speakers on the Pro Max are amazing compared to the 12 Mini, lol.

I ordered the SmartDevil set that comes with a box to set the phone in and the pulltab for dust-free application. Sadly, it's a tad too small and the light refraction on that new camera control is too much for me. shopping for alternatives.

That's been my experience with the ESR protectors. Similar applicator, which worked great and is a really neat idea overall. It's just the slightest bit off, like yours, so I've got a rainbow around the whole screen.

Love being able to customize the control center but I really, really hope they add a dedicated WiFi button

Collected our phones on launch day. Really happy with the phone.

I did the "just buy the screen protector at apple" as its easier to have them install. It took them close to an hour to do 2 phones, and must have went through a fair number of protectors. It was at the point the person who like drops of the additional protectors at the table said "if you need more, change who is doing it". It was painfully long. There was another apple person struggling too. I must have tried out most of the products in that hour wandering about!

My iPhone setup experience wouldn't be complete without some Caudabe case drama LOL. I ordered the same gray Synthesis case as soon as they went live. Got a shipping notification for delivery on Saturday, then noticed a second tracking number email for this week. Wondered what was up and just let it play out. Sure enough, I got my case on Saturday, and it was the Sheath model. I still opened and used it since I needed a case, but decided to wait and see if that second shipment was correct. Indeed, I got the Synthesis case in the mail today. Love the fit. Wish they could've done a capacitive button for Camera Control, but the aluminum buttons were a nice touch this year. Now I have a Sheath case I'm not using. Debating on whether I should return it or not. I hardly ever use a backup case, but they did do the right thing in the end and sent what I ordered.

    10/10 for Caudabe Synthesis case.

I have a Sheath on the way but I’m enjoying the Apple Silicone so I’ll probably just return the Sheath and if they move to a capacitive button re-order somewhere down the road.

Got my black Ultra 2 with the Milanese loop. The Ultra 2 is not really much of a noticeable upgrade over the Ultra 1, but the colour is cool and the band is insanely comfortable - coming from wearing an ocean band for 2 years which, though comfortable, you definitely notice on your wrist, I keep forgetting I’m wearing this. I saw Mark Gurman say on twitter that he finds it cheap and not typical Apple quality and I couldn’t disagree more.

I had a couple of marks on the body of the watch after only 24 hours of wear but I was able to rub them off with a bit of elbow grease so I think it might just have been a bit of paint off the wall of the pool.

Welp, I’ve never had much interest in watching shows on previous iPhones but I just watched an episode of something on Hulu at work and this large screen and small bezel might be a total game changer for me in that regard. (Propped up with an Anker 610.)

I always traveled with an iPad but started to not on some trips because the standard and Plus/Pro Max screens are good enough for me now.
