this is pretty good, sort of predictable. sometimes I wonder if he's pigeonholed himself

I mean, he has. He doesn't write like he used but this is still very good.

this is good and fine, nothing really blew me away on first listen. Really like El Capitan. will definitely give it some more listens this weekend.

As someone that has a visceral reaction to poorly explained card games, that intro track is a one and done play for me lol.

Enjoying the rest so far, I don't listen to much music like this anymore

I'm the opposite. I like every clip of dialogue they weaved into this

i always like the spoken word/dialogue portions of these albums. they're always done very well.

loving the old timey interlude stuff. i think my early favorites are hate, all threes and trains still run on time. i don't think this hits the highs he hit on weeds but that's fine.

bas jan ader and real feel 105 are my favorites.
find it as a whole pretty underwhelming. doesn't come close to down in the weeds.

This and the new Cursive album seem to have lots of similar themes. Lots of middle age doom vibes. Reminds me of the Ugly Organ/Wide Awake & Digital Ash era. I’m liking it.

  23. Saw them in STL in 2022 and the music was great, Conor’s singing actually sounded really good. But he was fucked up and awkwardly rambled between songs in a way that like, makes you kind of stare at the ground and hope it ends soon. Seems things have devolved since then but a couple years ago I was actually impressed with how good the music was given the hoopla about Conor’s demeanor etc
