I’ll actually bite.

Taiwan self-determination in terms of decoloniality or as in the self-determination of an oppressed nation, colonized people, exploited and underdeveloped (by China), struggling against imperialism, colonialism, or neocolonialism, which describes many of the nations of the global south?No, wouldn’t say they fit under this.

Self-determination as in Taiwan is basically a nation in all but official recognition, by which I mean "A nation is a historically constituted, stable community of people, formed on the basis of a common language, territory, economic life, and psychological make-up manifested in a common culture." Well perhaps, they more or less have this.

 

Well, yes. But the phrase self-determination came after "with its government formed by a retreating Chinese faction, not foreign colonization." I was not disputing the fact that Taiwan indeed exists
