The beginning of Greyhound always reminds me of The Goonies score.

 

This is definitely one of those releases where I need to be able to sit down and listen to the whole thing at once, but I'm really enjoying it.

 

as much as I feel like I’ve separated from a lot of the preferences of this website (no value judgment in any direction), I am rocking this record something fierce. Incredible gym listen

 

I LOVED this record on the first listen, but it gets better with familiarity. Every play and I’m digging it more. Spit HITS!

 

It’s probably 10 minutes too long for me personally, could shorten some of the intros and outros IMO and a song or two could go, but this record is amazing. I have yet to see them live and this run would be a great time to catch a set.

As a side note, the ending of Barking reminds me of Paranoid Android

 

i thought it was great from the get go but listening to tracks 2-4 beforehand realllllly fucked with my initial appreciation. absolutely in awe of the whole thing now, and the only tracks i was unsure about - cleaning and kentucky mcdonalds - are excellent. ESPECIALLY cleaning.

 

Yeah there’s like 1-2 releases per year from the “scene” (whatever that means in 2024) that hit me hard but this is one of them

 

I don’t love Cleaning sonically but the lyrics fuck me up. I’m way too obsessed with my dog

 

My cat died about a month ago so I can’t even listen to Cleaning

 

Yeah I’ve learned that I can’t handle songs about pet loss.

we’re three songs into the foxing set and i’m already overreacting calling it my show of the year when i’ve seen sweat and the hives and vampire weekend just in the last week alone

just could not pick three better songs to start with

 

Yeah they were outrageous last night.

Seeing a bunch of these new songs live and then giving this album a spin this morning I think it’s cementing it as their best for me.

Insane band.

 

Very cool to see them continue to get their (deserved) flowers for an album that was self-recorded, produced, released, etc.

 

if anyone lives in Milwaukee and wants to go to the show tomorrow night, i got an extra ticket!

I'm avoided listening to this in the gym to prevent (in my strange mind) diluting its emotional impact, especially after on a 3rd or 4th listen last week I had quite the emotional experience listening to Cry Baby.
