i think fascism was a historical artifact that cannot be replicated in the modern world to any degree that justifies using the same name. but they’re both far right freaks and that’s what fascist means to most people now

 

Via an EMT friend of mine, it's usually that they're closer in the area so will show up first, but also if it's in a part of town that is rough/known for crime, EMTs often want the police there to both secure the scene (obviously if it's a gun or knife wound or domestic violence of some sort, but also for most other things), and to protect them/equipment. He's told me some funny stories about EMTs having stuff stolen out of the ambulance lol, and sadly EMTs have been assaulted before so.

It's funny because he mostly hates cops with a passion but has said a few times there's been calls he's been on that wouldn't have been safe for him to be there without the cops being there first.

 

it is very difficult to and possibly cannot be fully defined. while I don’t really have any qualms with calling either fascists or saying we’re under fascism because the terrible things that can only possibly happen under fascism are in fact happening, I think its important to address and define exactly what liberalism is and that we live under it, and it must be opposed. cause we have people here believing voting for Kamala is opposing fascism rather than enabling the very things they would call fascism.

that being said, until the liberal democratic procedures of the US is not enough to maintain capitalism and liberalism of any kind is not the hegemonic ideology of capitalism and is replaced by something more reactionary, I maintain it’s not fascism. Nor does the US evidently need fascism to do genocides, pogroms, detention camps, imperialism, etc.
