you guys are still upgrading your phones every year?

 

Nah, haven't done that since the 13. Waited two years then, will wait two years minimum again.

 

I’ve been wanting to upgrade from my 12 pro max every year but there just hasn’t been a real reason to do so yet

 

I was going to upgrade again this year but ultimately decided against it. 15 pro currently, will most likely go 17 pro next year

 

Still can’t believe how bad they fumbled the photos app in iOS 18

 

And that they released Control Center as it is.

and reorganizing the Home Screen is as maddening as always.

 

Watch reviews are out for those who are curious.

I'm fighting the urge to get one for pick-up this weekend or hold off until there are sales on these. That usually means waiting until May or June for the best prices.

 

Viticci came around on the iOS Photos app and made a pretty compelling case for it in his review. I haven't used the betas but I'll go in open-minded.

 

It took some re-learning for sure and while I don't love it, it's still serviceable.

 

What do you not like about it?

 

I like that I can actually reorder the sections now, but the way that you can't just continuously scroll into the photo feed and it stops after showing an extra few rows (and then it clicks you into that view, instead of being able to scroll back down to the albums/etc.) still feels so clunky to me. It's kind of a "don't fix what isn't broken" thing that also started with bad organization, but the unnecessary UI friction at the most common interaction point is my personal main complaint as of now.

 

mmmm my s10 watch hasn't shipped yet I'm contemplating canceling it and just going for the AWU2 instead

 

I really like most of the iOS 18 dark mode icons, but the apps I use that haven’t updated their icons yet are driving my OCD nuts lol

 

still no sports widget???????

 

lol the seconds hand on screen dim are only on two watch faces.

 

At least it has live activities?

what good is live functionality if you cant get a widget!!!!!!

 

I agree, I largely don't like live activities.

 

like if i have to go all the way into my apps and pick an app, i'll propbably just keep using ESPN. jus gimme something i can throw on the home screen showing my scoresssssssssssssssssssss. i at least love that MLBatbat lets you pin box scores to your lock screen so you can keep tabs on it.

 

I really hate that live activities for sports scores in all the apps I’ve tried have to be activated manually for every game. I want it to just automatically put scores on my lock screen for teams I’ve selected

 

MLB does this now.

 

And the TV app used to for your teams until they moved it all over to Sports and now I have to select it for my Lock Screen.

 

Figures the one sport I don’t need it for (cause the Blue Jays suck shit lol)

 

I’m the White Sox fan. You don’t know suck.

 

The more I've read the reviews of the Series 10 - the more I'm thinking I'll stretch this Series 7 even longer. Just doesn't seem like it's worth the upgrade.
