At least feel safe with MA. Never, ever happening. The only Republicans that ever get elected here are WAY moderate, and they're a rarity, outside the governor's role.

  9. Yep. Most of the MA conservatives are probably closer to the center than even midwest dems, to say nothing of southern ones. I doubt many of them will want to align themselves with Trump at all. It's the only state in the union where no county went red

Yeah a Republican in MA just means a fiscal conservative, more or less.

I can't decide if this is good news or not

  12. I think its good news. Sure, their picks could be just as evil as Giuliani, but look at it this way:

    a) there's really no way it could be more evil than Giuliani unless it's like David Duke, which, even considering everything, i doubt he could get away with
    b) their evil will at least be tempered by not being (at least practically) senile, which I think must be the reason for this

I've had trouble settling on the right way to respond to this outcome, but the FDT protesting in Philly, Baltimore, et al doesn't seem like it's helping.

The thought process seems obvious ("I'm unhappy with this result because Trump is racist/dangerous/incompetent, so I'm going to say it with others so people notice") but like... what's the desired outcome? Can someone walk me through the goal?

Separate issue, but I'm also annoyed at the people at my office who are gung-ho about the protest but who didn't volunteer their time or money to ensure the opposite result happened.

feel like it's inevitable that christie will be considered, if guiliani doesn't want it. i would imagine he would take it given that quote yesterday that he would consider taking the right job. that would be a fucking travesty.

i cannot remember the last time i protested a thing, probably college, but imo, protest, especially non-violent, is never a bad thing. people are inconvenienced and bothered, but the ones that would actually hold it against you would rather you stay quiet and will never be your allies.

I'm sorry if I made you feel bad.

My experience: I worked really hard to get Bernie through the primaries and less so for Hilary. I've had a hard time sleeping like a bunch of people in this thread. My girlfriend's been crying for literally days. And despite that you made me feel worse for asking a question...for (in my mind) trying to learn and empathize.
