definitely worth seeking out a doctor that specializes in POTS and see what they say. My wife’s childhood best friend got POTS after her 2nd bout of covid and it basically upended a lot of her life. She’s a huge concert goer and has basically had to restrict herself to outdoor concerts to avoid covid (not that unusual but still), and has to go in the ADA section at venues because she needs to be able to sit and stand alternately because doing one or the other for too long brings on symptoms. Basically needs a full day to recover if she does virtually anything because it knocks her on her ass, etc

 

Pots is fucking terrible. My dad and sister have it. Takes like a year to even have a doctor's appointment for it. My sister hasn't worked in over a year because she passes out all the time. Her boyfriend had to install a handrail for her in the shower. My dad had to take a pay cut and cut back on his hours pretty soon after buying a house. Shitty situation all around

 

Here in CT, there has been a recent phenomena of drivers traveling in wrong way lanes, getting into fatal accidents. Often wonder if it’s because of brain fog

 

This honestly just sucks.

I jump the turnstile and often times wait for migrants to open the side gate to save money on my commute. This is just dumb

Got flu/novavax from the CVS in the Target near me. Super quick and easy this time. Last year it took a few hours but that might have just been short staffing issues

 

I used to actually spell my name out in cursive, it took me a long time (like into my 20s) to figure out how to do the squiggles in a vaguely similar shape to name lol

 

I was the opposite lol. Even in elementary I was doing the squiggles because I was imitating how I saw my parents signed checks so my teacher would get upset with me for not signing my name properly.

 

much, much moreso than a little, but you are not allowed to bring it up in this thread or you are accused of valuing certain human lives more than others. in this thread, accusations of genocide support are used as a cudgel to bully and silence anyone whose views do not align absolutely 100% with the prevailing groupthink, and then the same people show that they will not only casually dismiss something deeply important to another poster - such as Freud talking about what is happening to trans people in the United States - but they will constantly mock them and make fun of them for it going forward.
it makes the position up on that high horse look a little shakier than people seem to realize.

which is why it doesn't bother me at all when certain posters call me a genocide supporter for not opposing Israel in the exact manner that they want me to, or compare me to Adolf Hitler for saying that I am happy that Kamala Harris replaced Joe Biden as the Democrat on the ticket, when they constantly ignore and downplay what Russia is currently doing right now at best, and tacitly support it at worst.

my issue is with point C) - the country with the largest nuclear arsenal on the planet is currently waging a genocidal invasion of their much smaller and not nuclear armed neighbor, and I would say that brushing that aside because Ukrainians are not a captive population is in itself a form of genocide apologia, which undercuts the argument taking other people to task for the very same thing. having that distinction be the end all be all makes it a question of logistics and excuses intent.

it is not about making a direct comparison between Ukraine and Gaza, because they are obviously very different situations, nor is it about trying to create a dumb gotcha by comparing the two as such, but having one situation constantly ignored, explained away or justified also is infuriating, and plays into why constantly yelling about how Jill Stein is the only anti-genocide candidate running right now rings hollow and doesn't affect me in the slightest, no matter how many times it is repeated.

Ah yeah that's what it's called. But yeah I agree, if you've got their vote....ugh that says a lot to appeal to THOSE people. Which goes with what we were talking about abandoning progressives to gain people on the right.

But that isn’t happening - Ukraine has gotten nothing but support from this administration. Again, the thing that you want to happen in this scenario is the thing happening - money aid diplomatic support and weapons to Ukraine. Meanwhile, the people doing the thing you want can’t even let a Palestinian democrat give the most milquetoast speech possible at their convention. You’re mad at some people online for not talking about a thing you care about in a way that you want them too, because political reality already conforms to the thing you want. Ukraine has the support of the country with the largest most omnipresent military in history and has had it for years. Palestinians have that same country actively doing genocide against them. The mainstream talking point in this country is Ukraine good Russia bad. Zelenskyy Person of the Year, Putin Gay Trump Lover. What more do you want? The standard that you can’t mention Israel/Biden’s crimes here without also making note that Putin is bad too is so goofy. Take your W, man!
