  7. animators and vfx artists (and basically everyone else who isn't a big shot in the entertainment industry) really need to be treated better

  8. That makes me not want to watch Inside Out 2.

From “Sausage Party” to “Spider-Man,” this needs to get called out again and again. Disney made money hand over fist for this for such shitty working conditions. Inexcusable.

  10. the movie itself is quite good tho :-/

  11. I'm sure it is, but it's going to sour my taste on it, unfortunately

It couldn’t possibly have been the heady concept and mediocre final product!!!

Lightyear was actually good and then they ruined it with the reveal

I really liked Inside Out 2, but between this news and Disney paying Amy Poehler $5 million plus bonuses while offering everyone else, including Mindy Kaling and Bill Hader, $100K, the behind the scenes stuff just feels gross. Not that that’s some unheard of thing, but seems like there should be some kind of solidarity there with the cast.

  17. Sounds like Amy Poehler could donate over half of her salary to the animation team and still make more than I'll ever see in my life

Amy Poehler seems to be very much I did improv for exposure etc and that's just how things are

I’ve never heard this take in my life haha. She co-founded UCB, I feel like just that fact belies a love of improv for improv’s sake.

    Isn’t UCB very problematic itself?

From reading Seth Simons stuff on UCB, the UCB 4, including Poehler, didn’t want to run a theater, didn’t make money off of UCB, but they seemed to love the control they had. They let other people run it and they ran certain parts of it into the ground and when students or unpaid workers complained, it seems like they were all very flippant and did they whole “We were once young comedians too” type stuff. Exactly what you would expect from rich people.

That’s not to say that UCB and Poehler haven’t given people opportunities or don’t have a love of improv. I just think she, like many others, is just looking out for number one.

Yeah, I mean that’s part of the reason I left LA. The comedy scene I wanted so desperately to be a part of turned out to be deeply deeply fucked up!
