As I said, just an ownership willing to do some content moderation and fix pay to play would make Twitter both more usable and less damaging, IMO.

Obviously anything leading to the dissolution of FoxNews as a conservative GOP propo wing would also be a net positive, IMO.

You’re right, Kamala is leaping to the defense of Haitian Americans right now and totally not supporting Trump’s border plan because she is such a virtuous Patriot. She hasn’t totally reversed on her 2020 platform. Backbone of steel. Kamala “Principled” Harris.

I know Rupar is like the premier Trump coverage guy but he’s also pro Israel so not singling anyone out or anything but every once in a while I’m going to point out that he sucks. One good consequence of Trump hopefully losing and dying soon is Rupar can fade away with him

I think even David can recognize Kamala has almost no values and will only care about marginalized people to the extent it’s politically beneficial.

Rupar is pro/anti whatever the DNC (or whoever it is) pays him to be. Not a single brain cell in that guy’s head.

More or less. I’m sure like most politicians she has some pet issues that will be important to her no matter what, but for the most part it’s going to be what can I do on issue x that will be most likely to get me votes. I think there’s a lot of fear from establishment Dems, especially older ones, that taking a strong stance against Israel will lose a lot of moderate and Jewish votes, and they don’t feel confident it would make that up in left and Muslim American votes. And that’s probably because those voters skew younger and younger voters tend to not vote more often. As gross at it is, some large % of politicians, way over 50%, are all about self preservation IMO. Thats why I can never get on the don’t vote train, because I know how much campaigns rely on voter data haha. They’re always gonna go after the frequent voters first. Make them believe they need to appeal to your constituency to win, and that your constituency is a more reliable vote than the other constituency, and they’ll be more likely to go after your constituency. It’s not a hard fast rule of course, but I always like to increase the odds in my favor any way I can.

Harris will do some things I like and some things I don’t like. On pretty much every issue, she’s a higher chance to get what I like than Trump is, even if it’s only like 0% from Trump and 5% from Harris. I will take the 5% chance. I can’t think of one issue where it’d be better for literally anything I want for the GOP to control the White House for the next 4 years. Especially when we have two cons on the Supreme Court in their 70s.

And that’s of course not even getting into the ways in which I think Trump is a unique threat in many different ways to both basic government function and democratic norms. But idk…the GOP may be so Trumpified at this point that maybe he himself isn’t such a unique threat and the GOP is just always going to be this big of a threat to democracy for the rest of our lives which is just utterly fucking exhausting.

Yeah I think the current GOP is here to stay. And I fear the dems are going to keep moving center right in response, which sucks because it did look like left leaning policies were making progress 4 years ago. Kamala is actually a good barometer, being valueless, she was adopting a number of those policies 4 years ago, but now seems to be as centrist as any of them.

Again, appreciate the info and bringing that to light.

But to call a tweet of his clowning on Trump not knowing crypto as "pro Kamala" is quite a reach. I can see why intent behind tweets can matter depending on the person but context truly matters I think. As I mentioned a few days ago, I'm considering my reposts as anti Trump anti Vance anti GOP, making fun of them....not as "pro Kamala" because they're not even referencing her.

Which she still can't give a good reason to switching up on so many things. Come up with all the excuses you think you can tell people but the truth is, she knows what she has to say/do to appeal to people she wasn't doing for before.

It is valueless. But she knew what to do to get that base.

I think the idea that you must pivot to the center to win is demonstrably false.
