Fun fact it originally was never mentioned why it was a matinee lol. Guess it was one or the bigger criticisms from the test screenings which is p funny to me

  2. Movie felt intentionally schlocky, and I had a good time with it. Hartnett is fun to watch, and I thought several of the sequences were equally funny and suspenseful, which is an entertaining fence to walk.

The podcast Blank Check did an extremely long 3hr episode on this movie and while I already liked the movie, their analysis of it has thoroughly convinced me that it’s quite brilliant overall

  6. I like the movie and I like David in Griffin in doses but I don't know if I could listen to them talk about anything for three hours lol

It’s a great episode since David talks a lot about spending a bunch of time with M. Night for a profile he wrote of him

Listening at 1.5 speed also cuts it down a good deal

and yeah a lot of it is them just talking about Shyamalan in general

With the vast majority of conversational podcasts, it’s perfectly comprehensible. It’s not like a movie where there’s actual pacing

I just tried it for 2 minutes and absolutely hated it

Isn't part of the fun of podcasts the conversational style?

The 1.5 speed doesn’t give the conversation/jokes time to breath

    1.2x is the perfect speed

Sure, which is not missed at all by having it slightly faster

My friend listens to it at 1.5. We went on a road trip and he threw on Sloppy Boys. I thought it was some insane experimental podcast and he was like “Oh yeah. I can’t stand podcasts at normal speed.”

The most I can do is throw on silence reducer to shorten awkward pauses and whatnot.

All of this seems like more work than just listening to it. Are people in such a rush?

I can’t even begin to fathom what about it you think is more work. The “work” is pressing a single button one time

I like podcasts specifically because they fill time. I want them longer, not shorter.

  25. The only time I speed things like that is when I'm on my lunch and want to finish the Youtube video I'm watching before break is over. Then, rarely and reluctantly, I'll hit that 1.25x speed button. Doing that normally (and especially with podcasts) is insane
