The most recent Emerson poll is giving Trump only a 4+ lead in Florida. That isn't counting the over 200,000 Haitian-Floridians that are now going to be energized to vote against Trump who aren't going to be represented on polls. Florida is back in play, don't believe anyone that says otherwise.

I still have the feeling that the winner of the election is gonna end up losing PA which will be funny given how all the pundits basically claim if you lose PA you're bound to lose the election

Man how is it not illegal for health insurance companies to drop coverage for places in the middle of your insurance year!?

I feel like enrolling in insurance for a year should work like a binding contract... they shouldn't just be able to decide to stop covering all urgent care facilities and one of the largest hospitals in my area in the middle of it? They should have to hold their end of the bargain here. Otherwise, I should get to pay them less since I'm now getting less coverage!

I love the airport quote hahaha. I bet she's blowing a lot of people's minds with all that.

Look into Transition of Care or Continuity of Care. Most insurance places have an appeals process that can allow you to continue to see the same provider at the same price OR request that your provider join the new network.

First off I agree it should be illegal

It has to do with their contracts with hospitals clinics urgent cares etc generally being on a jan-jan schedule while our insurance contracts are july-july ie fiscal year. So my hospital (the top cancer center in the northeast) just up and dropped all their empire patients starting Jan 1. Why? They want to reimburse us at lower rates than last year. We didn't lower costs. So patients will end up paying more out of pocket which generally means we won't see that money.

    Healthcare is fucked.

Damn that really is fucked. Apparently I am in a unique spot where my insurance enrollment is January 1st to December 31st, but I've been told that's weird lol.

Fucking sucks! I work for a large international company that pays well and yet our health benefits are absolute trash! Vision and Dental are surprisingly great, though. It's the one thing that has me considering leaving. Fuck United Healthcare and fuck consumer directed health plans. Gve me back my old BCBS PPO instead of making me pay 15% of all medical costs lol

oooo agreed, this could be a good regulation. Like if you can’t agree to new terms with a health care provider, you should be forced to alert your customers immediately and also cover their care at the current agreed rates for the rest of the benefit year or something like that.

  24. another obvious one i think about a lot is making coverage facility based instead of individual provider based so that you don't have to pay $800 out of pocket because the doctor who read your test results to you was out of network and you had no possible way of knowing because you just went across the hallway

Yeah the surprise billing regulations are supposed to take care of a lot of those but I don’t think it catches all of them, I forget the details though
