Yikes. This could have been fine if it were like... 2:30-3 minutes shorter. But this is a rough listen.

Without even hearing it, I'm guessing this is the Cruisin' California of the album?

It's nowhere near that bad lol, but it's clearly on the more comedic side of their output.

Song is fun and they’re riffing like they’ve nigh riffed before.

I am officially looking forward to it!

They're 1.5/3 for me. That new one is just... So bad. The riffs are corny, the joke is old by the time the song is over, etc. I'm sure it'll be good live and go over well at the DWP festivals.

"Light It Up" is a banger and "Make It All Right" is an okay power-pop song.

This is still much better than I expect of the Offspring in 2024. LOL

Put the song on and after what felt like 10 minutes I looked at the time and it had only been on for 2:45 minutes.

Listened to Americana last night, still excellent. The novelty songs bothered me when I was in HS as I thought the more serious stuff was the "real" Offspring but now as an adult I realize the genius is in the balance and the fact that you have the likes of a novelty cover of "Feelings" AND "The End Of The Line" which makes for more dynamics

I still really can't do the novelty songs on that or any other album lol, the success of Pretty Fly for a White Guy is the worst thing that ever happened to this band imo

Their punk stuff is just sooo good

Wow, there aren't any joke songs on this album (well, maybe except Come to Brazil). As a punk fan, this might be the best thing they have done in at least 20 years.

Light it up, Truth in Fiction, Hanging by a Thread are great songs, and there is nothing here that I think is outright bad.

Okay, they are obviously trying to copy a few of their old songs, but I don't mind that. And the production is not great. But this is a lot better than what I feared.

    Things have changed.

I cannot believe they keep going back to Bob Rock and his terrible-sounding production.

This.....kinda smokes. "Truth In Fiction" has to be a Bad Religion nod both in title and style. Agree that production is not great but songs are awesome.

the production is truly trash on this thing

It was truly trash on the last album too, the cymbals on Army of One are egregious

Yeah Bob Rock just does not know how to produce them, he produces elements of this almost as if it's 1991 and Metallica's black album.

Also been thinking more about the “silly” songs on Americana and I just don’t think they’re that much sillier than songs like “Me & My Old Lady,” “Don’t Pick It Up,” and even “I Choose.”
