You just made my day! Extol is one of our favorite bands - especially the Synergy album - so expect more riffing on them in the future. (Pun intended.)

Digging into Nada Surf + Cursive for sure, but it sounds like I should give Foxing + Dayglow a spin also...

    • Foxing -- A band that are their own beast
    • Winterfylleth -- Epic atmospheric black metal with folk elements
    • Crobot -- Southern rock that hits just right
    • Taylor Acorn -- Pop with slight 00's emo tinge. Kind of like Charlotte Sands.
    • Sans Froid -- Description I saw for this was "weird piano prog." Yeah, that's the best description, going with that.
    • Oceans of Slumber -- Heavy prog with an absolutely killer vocalist, and some doom metal
    • Luck Won't Save You -- Progressive death metal
    • Cursive -- Late 90's/early aughts emo still going strong
    • Motorpsycho -- Usual sprawling, rocking, prog band continues down their more pop focused sound
    • Silly Goose -- With all the Linkin Park ish going on right now, how about checking out a nu-metal band that doesn't have ties to Scientology!?
    • 156/Silence -- Heavy chugging & breakdown focused metalcore
    • Satan -- Just straight up heavy metal
    • Stryper -- Glam metal revival

Definitely will! As much as I hate social media, I've been helming our promotion over on Instagram, if that's your thing. Otherwise, will do! Thank you so much.

Big day! Excited for Cursive, Foxing, and Johnny Foreigner.

Also highly recommend the new Broken Glowsticks (AJ from TDS' solo project) and The Jesus Lizard.

I'm trying not to be a snobby gatekeeper but something about her starting as all out T Swift Red style country, to labeling her last album punk and this one pop and how she's been marketed makes me skeptical on the authenticity of her music as just trying to capitalize on what's trendy.

EDIT: I saw the album was only 28 mins so I listened. The music itself is admittedly pretty good. Very cohesive album I think a lot of people will enjoy.

Also new 10 year anniversary tracks for Motionless In White's Reincarnate. Hard for me to believe that record is already 10 years old but, here we are.

Please tell me you're familiar with this song:

Even if you're not a fan of the Faceless, the fact they got the "Sexy Sax Man" on this track... So good.

Sydney Sprague - somebody in hell loves you (deluxe)
this was one of my top albums from last year. i‘ve yet to listen, but i’m intrigued by the new track sequencing and how it might change the experience! i’m a full albums girlie, so deluxe editions don’t usually appeal to me bc the new tracks are just tacked on the end like an afterthought.

Damn. Today is sneaky stacked for album releases. The new Cursive is pretty good. Very excited to check out Porches and Foxing! and of course all of the recommended albums from this thread! My running playlist for this year is up to 1800 songs lol so I really appreciate the stuff I find from here. It's been a fantastic year for new music so far.
