Just got started, god DAMN that's an opener

 

These songs are gonna be transcendent live holy shit

 

Best first listen to an album I think Ive ever had? Im stoned so Im thinking a lot of hyperbolic things, but I think this easily clears NMG and Cleaning is the first song to make me cry on first listen in a very long time.

 

First impressions: very dense, the singles make much more sense in the context of the album, some of this sounds like early M83 put through a meat grinder, Spit, Barking, Gratitude and Hall of Frozen Heads the early standouts, the latter should have been the closer, there’s a bit too many cacophonous parts and they all kind of blend together after a while but I’m hoping they grow on me with time, going to need a lot of listens to fully unpack it

 

IT TIME

 

if nothing else the jump scare in the first song is extremely reminiscent of daisy

i was not prepared for the second half of this album.
holy shit, this is so emotional and unpredictable.
i love that the first listen was challenging, and they never do what you're expecting. this is a weird, dense album, and i'm all for it!

 

Not hard to imagine this passing NMG as my favorite of theirs, which is an insane thing to say after one listen
