Is anyone else surprised that Chloe was not asked back? Punkie and Molly leaving I understood, it felt like the writing was on the wall with those two but Chloe I felt had a bright future ahead on the show.

 

I’m surprised we haven’t heard an opening date, host or musical guest yet. We gotta be only 2-3 weekends away from season opener and honestly, with a presidential election coming up and debates starting this week, surprised they aren’t starting the season earlier.

 

I’ve seen September 28th but I have yet to see it be confirmed.

I know everyone has Chappell Roan penned in as the premiere musical guest but if that date is right, it’s not happening. She’s headlining a festival in NYC that night, and I’m going so she better not fucking cancel lol

trying to think who else is available for the musical guest to open maybe Shaboozey or Tinashe

 

Maybe Billie? Google shows she has a show the next night in Quebec but it would be doable. Think Sabrina would be the choice if she didn’t already play at the end of last season

Really interested in seeing who they get to play Tim Walz and JD Vance.

I think Chappell will be on eventually but probably not until mid October at the earliest

 

She’s actually not headlining, and that venue has a strict 10pm curfew.
So figure her set is done by 8:30pm. 20 minute drive to midtown and still almost 3 hours to spare before going on air. Actually lines up perfectly.

 

Foo Fighters performed at Bamboozle and helicoptered over to SNL to perform. Anything is possible!

 

Didn’t know about the curfew, good to know, I’m not from NY if you can’t tell lol. They also haven’t released any set times yet so I feel like the schedule might still be fluid based on recent events, unless they signed strict contracts of course.

I think the only other issue is she is Germany earlier in the week so idk the logistics for rehearsals and she has do to to DC the next day. But that doesn’t seem impossible.

 

Agreed! Really surprised for sure, I thought she was a pretty promising hire. I hope she starts popping up in things now that people know she has insane pipes!

 

Man, Troast not coming back is maybe the most surprised I've ever been at a new cast member not being asked back, I feel like she killed it the whole season and headlined multiple sketches on her own. I like the guy but... how is Devon Walker now main cast but she couldn't even get a second season?

 

They have to announce soon - today or tomorrow (though tomorrow is 9/11...)

 

Yeah agreed, it’s bizarre because they were utilizing her a lot especially once she started singing more. Devon is just fine hopefully he steps it up this season

 

I don’t understand how Devon got promoted and everyone else got the boot. I guess being friends with JAJ and Dismukes probably helps. I just can’t think of a single memorable he’s played.

 

Yeah Devon basically just plays supporting roles and to me, contributes nothing to the show. Chloe right out of the gate crushed it with that orphan skit with Chalamet last year. Shocking she got the boot.

 

I'm hoping that she's a Tim Robinson situation and goes on to absolutely crush it on her own!

 

To be fair, this tweet is pretty funny.

 

idk if Jane's super dry and deadpan comedy style is gonna fit in a lot of sketches but at the very least she's gonna be able to have some great update characters. (and also a good chance that she's able to branch out into more traditional comedy stuff and fit right in)

 

I have heard Devon on podcasts and such outside of SNL. He is incredibly funny and has great potential. I have seen him on podcasts alongside Michael Longfellow and he is easily the more naturally funny of the two. He just hasn't really had a chance to highlight it yet. Hopefully now being a repertory player he gets his chance.

 

9/28 was going to be the first show, right?
