No serious person writes like that – really being over the top with the DAVE GROHL IS YOUR DAD angle and using #davegrohl as a hash tag? Let's use some critical thinking.

I apologize if it indeed was fake. It popped up multiple times on my feed. And it wasn’t just random people, the edit screenshot came from another musician

My barely educated theory is that, in certain stratospheres of the entertainment industry, you have to work with or around so many behind the scenes creeps and terrible people that one can stop caring entirely or be really bad at knowing which of the creeps will earn you public criticism and which will go under the radar/be looked at positively if the creep still has a positive public image. But, in the end, in this case, it was 1000% obvious so I would say she just doesn’t care enough.

 

I don’t necessarily think that’s untrue but I do think it unravels when you consider someone of Perry’s stature has a team of people behind them, including a PR team that would surely have told her this would not end well

 

As someone who likes katys music more than the average person, she's desperate for a hit and thought working with Dr. Luke would get her some. She thought enough time had passed that she could get away with working with him. And honestly if the songs were good people would've made a fuss but the general population ultimately probably wouldn't have cared and jammed. But not only did she work with him but it wasn't even on good music. Tanked her image for mediocre music.

I can believe that women in entertainment get so much sexist bs crazy off base criticism and backlash that there is a tendency of some artists to sort of categorize it all as "haters." But that's not an excuse. She needs to recognize when it's just haters or awful people being awful, and when she's straight up in the wrong. Or she needs to have less yes people on her team to be real with her about the difference.

I give Katy some benefit of the doubt normally because of her upbringing but sis is a grown adult and needs to do better

 

Kind of reminds me of when Kevin Hart and Ellen branded anyone upset about his past homophobia and lack of any apology as haters. It’s become a go to word that has no meaning at this point. All these people need better PR
