Did someone here mention that Every Other Weekend is the same in terms of BPM or chord progression as Always? I read something like that somewhere.

It's "One Night Stand" and "Always" that are similar. Both are 79/158 BMP (or at least extremely close to that).

The chorus chord progressions are almost the exact same but differ in the second chord.
    "One Night Stand" is B, C#, G#, E.
    "Always" is B, B (with a D# octave added as harmony), G#, E.

Now that you mention it though, the chord progressions for "Every Other Weekend" and "One Night Stand" are basically the same, just moved up one step lol.

    Thanks for the breakdown!

Loving both at the moment. One Night Stand actually had to grow on me after 3 or so listens and now I'm obsessed.

Love these songs. When Anthem pt3 starts back up I cut right back to them

For sure, both of those songs are really good! I'm actually loving both a lot more when I actually started to pay attention to the lyrics and understand what they were about.

Also, I've gone through and learned the whole bonus album on guitar - there are some really great stacking of guitar parts in both of those songs. Everything they write is so simple, but when they are all stacked on top of each other, it makes it sound sooo good and changes the entire tone.

    Are You Watching Closely?

One Night Stand vocal melody reminds me of Kiss and Tell chorus for some reason... but it's probably my favorite on the new album

Mark's bit in the final chorus in Every Other Weekend is probably my favorite moment of all these new songs, so GOOD!

I am genuinely loving these tracks. The darker vibes of One Night Stand might be my favorite along with the infectious urgency of Everyone Everywhere.

The Everyone Everywhere/If You Never Left/One Night Stand run is my favorite thing and it knocks my socks off

  11. the bridge to "take me in" still "takes me out" of that song, which is frustrating since the rest of the song is great haha.

Anthem Pt 3 is still one of the most incredible songs they've ever made. We're in the best blink timeline again.

Could run through a wall when it plays.

I believe you hold this opinion just for the joke. I will not be convinced otherwise.

  15. The joke is very good, yes, thank you. But also that bridge is so dumb haha. No way that was the best bridge they could have come up with for such a good song. The autotune makes it even worse. But it reminds me of that clip in UC2 where Mark is trying to sing “youuu” and then he mocks himself and sings it dumb. That’s what his part of that bridge reminds me of.

but that’s my only gripe with all the new songs.

The bridge on Take Me In is not good. Neither is the chorus to One Night Stand.

Those are my only gripes with the deluxe songs.

Yeah, other than See You and Cut Me Off (which I still don't really have any desire to check out) I'm really liking the 8 new tracks they released with Part Two... Even the weaker songs (not counting SY and CMO) have something special about them makes it impossible not to enjoy them.

I mean like I said before, I mocked the bridge of TMI so much that I'm now okay with it (though I agree that they could have went something better and less cheesy), but I've gotten used to it.

    Also...

The chorus of No Fun is the only thing that does nothing for me.

To me it's the best part because it gives me Teenage BottleRocket vibes (and I'm a huge TBR fan) though I will admit it is flatter than what TBR does because with their chorus you'd have background vocals in the chorus

    Example:
(There's a TBR song No Fun reminds me of, but I can't remember it, but this song is just an example of the TBR vibe NF gives me)
