  1. I don’t think I would participate in dynamic pricing at this point - prices always drop closer to the show when resellers get desperate

Also, I’m not sure if this was mentioned yet, but Brad announced yesterday that he wouldn’t be touring with LP moving forward and will only be involved in writing, recording and “behind the scenes” stuff.

Yeah, this LP reunion is a no from me, dog

Their announcement about doing stadiums next year is super ambitious imo. Aside from all the controversy Emily has brought them, only 3 original members actually touring and fans already split on replacing Chester (before the controversy became mainstream), I think stadiums is going to be a very large ask.

Yep. Mike, Phoenix and Hahn will be the only three OG members on stage playing

The only way I can see a stadium run working well is if either 1) they get a big support act like Sleep Token or Bad Omens, or 2) one of the singles from the new album becomes a huge hit.

Sleep Token or Bad Omens will not help them sell in Stadiums. That is completely underestimating how much draw those bands have and how much fanfare it takes to fill a stadium. The issue is a lot of LP fans won’t care because it’s a new vocalist that doesn’t really even have their own fanbase or any notoriety other than being the new vocalist for LP. Chester was the band for a lot of people and with half of the original members missing this feels more like Sublime with Rome than anything. A sincere imitation that doesn’t really reflect the band people used to love.

Arenas make much more sense to be able to sell well instead of playing half empty stadiums.

Don’t know if anyone here missed out when they went on sale but they released more GA bowl tickets for All Things Go NYC

I could see this new LP 2.0 doing arenas/amps at most. But no way are they doing stadiums. Even with solid support.

I think the only way they could do a stadium is if they did a co-headliner of some sort. Like if they ended up doing this Blinkin Park shows they had slated for 2017, but since it’s their first tour with the new singer, I don’t see why they’d spend their first tour co-headlining instead of doing their own thing and establishing themselves

I am pretty curious to see how LP 2.0 does next year. Even before all the stuff about Emily came into light, I didn’t see a single praise about her or the new music. People seemed really put off from the get-go

    Saw this on LPLive earlier
Idk if anyone cares, but if anyone here lives near Salt Lake City, one of the DJ’s for our most popular alt rock station (x96) very strongly hinted that they have a show booked here in early 2025.
Right after they premiered the song the DJ spent a few minutes talking about the comeback and then ended it by saying “they are only playing 6 shows at the start, but they are going to tour extensively in 2025 and I have on good authority that they will be making their way here to Utah early next year so stay tuned”

For me all of the excitement has been sucked dry. The countdown stunt, the new song, the vocalist, missing members… I don’t see casuals getting interested and it’s probably going to divide die hards. Stadiums are out the window, I think they bungled their comeback

Honestly, I feel like they would’ve just been better off pulling a +44 or a Beady Eye and labeling it as a new group completely. They’d do their own thing, but also still incorporate LP songs live. But I guess using the LP name generates more attention. And I guess it worked…

Maybe it’s just the bubble I’m in, but last week the Oasis reunion was all anyone around me was talking about. And really 11 days later it’s still a big topic of conversation. Meanwhile hardly anyone has been talking to me about Linkin Park. The few friends who heard the single didn’t like it, were turned off by half the band not taking part, and no one was interested in trying for tickets for the NYC show.

I see the video already has 8 million views after 2 days, so time will tell if those views were just out of curiosity of if the song gains traction.

    Not Big Chungus

This new iteration of LP is reminding me way too much of Prophets of Rage and/or Blink with Skiba. Not saying either of those are bad per se, but they split the general audiences greatly without the core band intact

I’d argue that Prophets Of Rage made it clear they were a different entity, though. Even though they were mainly covering Rage songs and such.

LP’s situation is like if Prophets Of Rage actually went by the name Rage Against The Machine.

I saw Linkin Park 19 times between 2000-2014 so I've more than gotten my fix. Given that there are only 3/5 remaining OG members involved and the fact I'm not really into the new single, this is not something I'm interested in. That being said, unlike Sublime w/Rome, LP was definitely a democratic setup creatively from my understanding so I understand why they feel justified carrying on under the name (similar to how Stone Temple Pilots and Alice In Chains operate). If the stadium rumor is true, it has to be part of a BIG package. Even though the Brooklyn show up the road from me sold out, you can still get into the building for around face value second hand which is an indication of demand (or lack of).
