    Yeah it’s everywhere

  2. Yesterday's livestream aside, their first show is in a few days. They have to do something because it's only going to get bigger.

My sign that something has broken through: My friends in my group chat are talking about it and they're dads that mostly don't pay attention to pop culture unless it Star Wars or Marvel. It has a ton of steam.

I'm not even a Linkin Park fan (Hybrid Theory is pretty tight though) and I heard their new singer was a Scientologist who supported Danny Masterson before I knew they were even getting back together. It's definitely pretty big

If for some incredibly odd reason they didn't comment on it, they would be clowned from here to eternity as the LP cover band with Xenu-worshipping, rape-shaming lead singer. They might survive it, but I don't think Shinoda would be able to stand being viewed as a two-faced goon to OG fans.

obvious solution, bring back Fort Minor so everyone can be like wow Skylar Grey sang Where'd You Go

  9. Cedric's call out IG comment is from last year or even earlier right? It's not the only publication I've seen bring it up as being a reaction to her joining LP.

Yeah that first one is totally wild, considering SOAD's subject matter the majority of the time.

Yeah, that's eyeopening. I'm a bit shocked, tbh.

I respect it. It's not that different from what Tim did with Thursday for pretty much everything from ACBTLD forward - he wouldn't tour, would record and write, and that's that.

Yeah I don’t mind that at all. These dudes have lives and families outside of the band, for sure now after being dormant for as long as they have. After having kids, I totally get wanting to still make music but not being able to commit to the grind of touring.

And I've never been a huge fan of the band but I recall that touring was never his favorite thing. Isn't that part of the reason behind the headphones, too?

  19. A rotated cast of guitarists should take his place on stage but they'd all have to wear those headphones except they inexplicably keep getting bigger show after show

The headphones are for a hearing thing IIRC, but yeah I've always felt like Brad seemed the most satisfied as more of a producer. Him shifting into a solely studio-focused role makes a lot of sense to me

I am fine with him shifting to studio only. It’s similar how Dave from the Killers tried to operate until he got pulled back in for live shows after being entirely absent on one record.

It also makes me think of Jasen Rauch, formerly of Red, who then joined Breaking Benjamin but still helped out Red with writing for a time.

Of course you have an example that includes the bands Red and Breaking Benjamin.

Protest the Hero’s lead guitarist and primary songwriter, Luke Hoskins, does the same thing. No touring, just writing, recording. He also runs Sheet Happens Publishing, so I assume that’s a huge part of why he doesn’t tour.
