I didnt see Tiger King, but, unless he had a wild shift to become like a Trumpian dude, we're about to see a lot of wrestling stars look very stupid answering questions and Vince is gonna get fileted like he's in an Errol Morris film

Basically the lawsuit comes down to the band licensing the name to Cody for a fee as long as “Cody Rhodes” is featured bigger than “American Nightmare”. Their argument is that now WWE and Fanatics are printing Cody merch that -just- says “American Nightmare” and it’s creating brand confusion.

 

Yeah, this isnt subtle, its WWE doing what it always does (making merch and saying f*ck anyone else), and an obvious breach of contract following suit. There appears to be one piece of merch that meets the criteria agreed to, and everything else is obviously infringing. And there's a solid 30-40% of his merch w/ logos + "American Nightmare" and zero wording of "Cody Rhodes".

Doubly funny when it comes the same week as them trying to claim prior use for "Yes" with Daniel Bryan

 

on the one hand music guy should get his piece no questions asked, on the other hand no one should have any leveraged merchandising rights to one of the most obvious turns of phrase in human history
