That Scientology show with Leah Remini, as well as “Going Clear,” really opened my eyes to the lengths Scientologists will go to harass people. Insane behavior.

I just watched the Cedric and Omar documentary, which I am not sure when it actually is being released, but he dives into how he got into it and out of it and the damage it has done, pretty wild stuff

I had no idea who she was before yesterday, and can’t wrap my head around how LP didn’t go insanely deep in making sure she wasn’t a massive piece of shit

So I work at the network that made the Remini show. Probably can't share any specifics, but the shit the church of Scientology was doing to stop that show was wild.
But I can say that when I lived in LA briefly my apartment was 1 block away from the main Scientology campus, which was also across the street from The Kaiser Permanente hospital. It was disgusting watching scientologists waiting outside the hospital trying to prey on grieving visitors.

The mental gymnastics going on in the subreddit. Almost positive it's being brigaded by Scientologists, too.

If she is still raving Scientologist, there’s no doubt the church saw this as a win and chance for a big payday.

Yeah I don’t pay attention to any specific Linkin Park subreddits, but 3/5 top posts on r/music are about Linkin Park, and most of the top level comments are mentioning disappointment of her involvement with Scientology/Masterson. It’s definitely going to force them to say something, I hope.

She has 230K more followers right now than she did 24 hours ago. I'm surprised her posts aren't being flooded with comments at this point.

The Devil works hard. Online Scientology scrubbers work harder.

What do people expect them to say? There's no way they weren't aware of any of this. The only honest thing they could say is "we know, and we don't care". At best they'll give some generic "we believe in freedom of expression" nonsense

That doesn’t really seem like the values they’ve cultivated with their fans. It’s not a one-time situation like Paramore inviting Lil Uzi Vert onstage and just sweeping it under the rug. It’s a band that basically answers to its fans and also is paying homage to Chester with pretty everything they do. It would be shocking for them to say anything like that, but not unheard of.

This. I know it's unfortunately common for our heroes to let us down, and they do.

I just have a hard time accepting this from this band, with everything they've done in the past and especially in light of Chester.

Honestly, this is making me physically ill. At the very least incredibly depressed. I want to hang on to at least some shred of belief that not everyone is a hypocrite.

Don’t think this story will ever get big enough to prompt the band to say something

LP have to tread very differently than other reuniting legacy acts because of Chester IMO. Say SOAD with their MAGA drummer, or flat earther Stef in Deftones, those dudes have been around since the beginning, and you can kind of turn a blind eye to that since they've been in the band for a long time.

LP had to honor the legacy of a singer who was very upfront about his struggles, and to replace him with someone who tried to intimidate victims of SA feels like a humongous slap in the face to who Chester was.

Rolling Stone and Forbes aren't big enough for this to gain traction?

Right now I agree. Although Rolling Stone picking it up is promising, at least.

    Is a real bummer.

Looked at their IG comments... a lot of top level comments point this out. Definitely not buried. Even a casual fan reading those would see it. Interestingly, it does seem to be posts where they're tagged from Zane, Apple Music, etc. Not on the posts of JUST them... makes me wonder if those are being policed.
