New song is cool, sort of wish all of the previous songs weren’t on this because half the album has been released already and have been out for some time. I like the short rollout though. Overall these songs are fine and I’m interested but nothings really blown me away.

Harbinger is the best track released so far IMO. Looking forward to hearing this release!

This is a bummer and definitely not helping the narrative around Keith with ETID:

Dang, a week+ early. Did you get tracking or did it just show up?

Got tracking on Tuesday. It was originally scheduled for tomorrow, but I'm close enough to CT that it came today.

Received my pre-order yesterday. After the first spin, I am not afraid to say I really enjoy this album. There may be dozens of us in the coming days. Yes, the rollout has been kinda clunky, but Keith and the other band members have said this debut was going to merge that staple ETID sound with other influences such as hard rock and grunge - and I think that's exactly what we received.

"Future Proof", "Third", and "The Rainbow" really capture the hard rock and grunge influences while "Harbinger", "Speechless", and "Amateurs" really lean on the ETID inspiration. Hell, "Amateurs" could fit in easily on Gutter Phenomenon or The Big Dirty. Sure, the songwriting is a little bit more straightforward and the lyrics may not be as cryptic and quirky as before, but this is a really good debut album for a brand new project. If anything, I think the album is too short and I would've loved to hear the band experiment further in both directions.

PS: I am not taking sides with the drama. I enjoy Better Lovers too and can't wait for that album to drop as well.

  16. Amateurs is fucking insane! Some of the singles I’m still a little lukewarm on, but there is so much stuff to love on this record

This is very good. I’m surprised how much I am enjoying the first listen. I need more time with it but Speechless and Amatuers go hard. Weird drama of the rollout aside, Keith turns in a hell of a performance and is undoubtedly one of the best to do it.

So pleased with this. Keith's vocals really soar on some of these songs. There is a lot here to love apart from the initial singles.

While I wish they didn't release 4 tracks ahead of the album, I get why they did it. That said, I'm pleasantly surprised how great this sounds as a whole. I got my preorder on Tuesday but held off on spinning it until today. I really hope they get traction and can continue to make music. "Mad as a rabbit" or not, Keith not making music would be a bummer. Just hope they stop by AR in future tours.

Also, kicking myself for NOT picking up a hat w/ the record. As a habitual hat guy, that logo on the front is sick.

I finished my first listen of the Many Eyes album and damn it's really fucking good!! I hope I get to hear those songs live whenever they announce UK dates.

They fixed your brain when you were young.

I… do not like this very much on first few listens. Keith sounds great and I really like the first 2 songs, but the rest didn’t do much for me. Will listen a few more times, but first few spins were a letdown for me. The deathwish vinyl variant is amazing though. Turned out really incredible.

  24. "Enough" is an absolute banger and I wish the album was more in that vein. The rest mostly went in one ear out the other but I'll definitely give it more listens and see if anything else sticks.
