Just been worried about my dog all day at work. Not having central air sucks.

Hopefully you guys are staying (somewhat) cool and (very) hydrated.

I just wanted to shout out my favorite local charity: Fix Nation (fixnation.org) located right by the Burbank airport. I took my kitten in today and was reminded how awesome they are! (It was 115 degrees over there today which sucked)

They do low-cost spay/neuter plus other exams and medications for pet cats. What's even cooler is they do trap-neuter-return for community/feral cats which is a great program. They had a wait-list for the pet appointment so there is that, unfortunately.

Anyway, just wanted to give them a plug if you guys or anyone you know are ever in need of their services.

I have central AC but it's still too fucking hot at night

I'm trying to have a drink at the end of the night and I'm just instantly dehydrated lol

I’ve been here 10 years. Definitely feel the Highland Park migration. I’m not participating though

HP has some great restaurants and bars. Plus Lodge Room is probably my favorite venue in the city.

I lived in NoHo from 2011-2013 and loved it. Right before the arts district got all modernized. Every Saturday morning, walk to Republic of Pie for a strawberry rhubarb slice, walk to the Laemmle to see two movies, then walk across the street to Vicious Dogs and murder my body for lunch. Simpler days.

  14. When I was in college I went to Lit Crawl for a few years, that's pretty much the only time I wandered NoHo. Nowadays I'm only there to take the metro to Hollywood or DTLA for concerts. Outside of going to shows, most of my time is spent in Burbank or Northridge.
I never really got to explore that area. Last I was there my parents drove me to the Olivia Rodrigo concert last month; they did a bit of shopping until I was out. The traffic right after the show suuuuucked

There are some cool spots! Definitely have to be aware of when all the shows and games are but that’s not too big an issue. My fiancée and I are moving into the house that’s been in her family since the 30’s if I remember correctly

The Laemmle is still here, unless yall are talking about restaurants.

Let me know when you want to roll through to NoHo. B-)

haven't been in a minute, but I believe you. I keep hearing it's closing every year so I assumed it was gone by now

Started a new browser window full of tabs of preparedness supplies to buy before realizing I still had open the browser window full of tabs of supplies to buy from the last earthquake a couple weeks ago. Minimized both and will circle back

I love the alert system though. Obviously it's still getting better and isn't without its flaws. But even without any warning ahead of time there's some comfort in KNOWING it's an earthquake and strong enough to trigger the alarm.

I’m not sure what the parameters are, but this morning was the first alert I’ve gotten out of the ones I’ve felt over the last couple of months. #progress
