This is truly embarrassing to watch unfold, you should be ashamed of yourself for being that ghoulish of a person about this situation.

feel like Israel could try to colonize, systematically wipe out and oppress the entire west bank for decades and clucky would still not understand why the concert goers aren't innocent.

Rather than holding a variation of a conversation we’ve had dozens of times, would you go talk with clucky about why the slaves or Native Americans didn’t deserve scorn if innocent people died during their attempts at resistance?

Did they attend a music festival off the coast of Pearl Harbor i never heard about?

Actually way more importantly, that still wouldn’t justify it as it is incredibly facile to compare the actions of an actual country with nuclear capabilities (using them to send a message to the entire world about American might and willingness to spread death as much as anything to do with the war with Japan itself) before anyone else had them to a tiny resistance movement with rockets from the early 90s or whatever.

The needle, in my opinion, is threaded outside the realm of electoral politics. Attend protests, provide direct aid to Palestinians, and work with non-electoral organizations to find ways to resist western imperialism. Really, what if like to see people do is educate on and build capacity for general strikes, as I feel like a lot of other mass actions are easily co-opted at this point (look at BLM).

that doesn't really answer the question if residents are complicit in their countries crimes

I don't think anyone here defending Hamas's actions would have any different views regardless of where in Israel the attack happened

What I’m saying is America was the one committing the crime there, cluck

does Israel have mandatory service in the IOF for their citizens and has been engaged in a genocide and forceful resettlements of Palestine for decades? If so, then those attendees have likely served in a military committing war crimes, carrying out a genocide, and violating international laws.

which I don't think anyone disagrees with

but seems to me if you want to argue "the Israelis that were killed are not innocent they are complicit in their government's actions against Gaza" then doesn't the same logic hold that the Japanese that were killed by are nukes were also complicit in their government's actions, and thus not innocent either?

Very obviously no? The Japanese military attacked an American military base. They didn’t colonize our country for nearly a century, bar us from public life, put us all in open air prison camps, jail or execute our political leaders, report through polling that they’d prefer my family and i be ground to paste, routinely brutalize our civilians, and then literally dance on our graves. If they had, I wouldn’t judge you for how you chose to respond.

Trying to even understand how the US nuclear usage in WW2 works for the example because it's usage was due to USSR/Communist paranoia, not as a punishment to the Japanese government and it's civilians for what it did during WW2 or to end the "threat" of that country.

It doesn’t, it’s a false equivalency the guy is trying to make because he’s backed himself into a corner where the actions of oppressed groups can be scolded as if they are on the same playing field as imperialism/systematic genocide.
