saying killing innocent people is wrong makes you a villain?

I say a lot of dumb shit in this thread, I might misread an analogy (Which I owned up to), but I have never implied that all Palestinians were terrorist, or hamas.

I’m hoping if he tries to actually answer me he’ll come to the conclusion that Hamas is a product of their environment which has been brought about by US and Israel and handwringing from our homes in the Western nation assisting the genocide about who is or isn’t a terrorist means fuck all

  4. You are comparing civilians having a party next to a concentration camp being attacked in a prison break to the nuclear bombing of Japan. Do you see any disconnect there?

Get this: the people that fight in Hamas, are Palestinian. And everyone in Palestine with a gun is gladly fighting alongside them.

I already know the answer to those questions because I have been researching this conflict independently for the better part of seven years I just want you to realize that things have context and saying Hamas are terrorisrs and terrorists are bad and need to die strips that context away when it’s kind of important to understanding every thing that’s going on

  6. I am going to clockwork orange you people and make you watch Battle of Algiers

When I condemned Hamas for essentially being a mold that is allowed to grow and fester due to Israel and the world government's mistreatment of Gaza you suggested I was calling all of Palestine mold. And then other people called me disgusting for making that comparison.

I understand you might've misread the analogy, but that all did happen

I still think it’s a gross comparison. Sue me. I’m two seconds away from saying Hamas are justified in their actions but I’m afraid Cluck might report me for it

  11. Hmmm personally I would've just not used a stupid, dehumanizing analogy to talk about the fighters resisting a genocide while I pay taxes for it to continue, but that’s just me

The important context is what Wharf Rat has been pointing out over and over again: Hamas is the main resistance to the genocide right now. They’re more just than the U.S. in their plight.

  14. Just like, why spend energy condemning Hamas? Like you look at what’s happening and feel like that’s a good use of an instant of your consideration? Could never be me

I mean I don't normally spend energy condemning Hamas. Because on the grand scheme of things, they are still simply a symptom of the root problem. But I think if people start going "Hamas are actually good" it's still worthwhile to push back against that.

  20. this is the only context i’m going to have this conversation in from now. i’m going to edit your posts to be about the historic comparisons you keep ignoring, and i’m going to make my posts about them instead of this. I wonder if that will get one of you to acknowledge what the parallel to your view is. You all keep ignoring it so i’m not going to have the conversation without it.

if slave revolts killed a bunch of innocent people I'd condemn those too. Certainly wouldn't go "well 80% of the people living there support slavery so they are complicit and so its okay for them to die, just like how enough people in Hiroshima were complicit in the actions of the Japanese government that it was okay for us to nuke them"

let’s confront a reality that clucky doesn’t want to confront: you don’t end a genocide without violence. personally, I think violence against oppressors is good and mecesssry. thus Hamas is good and necessary. who else is pushing back against Israel with more than words?

I wonder sometimes how much of this thread would go to, like, Riot Fest if there was also an ongoing genocide on the other side of the wall.
